How to publish a website with no account

  1. Prepare your HTML file, folder or ZIP

Save a single webpage as an .html file, or put a multi-page site into a folder or .zip where index.html is the homepage. Include any CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly or JSON your page uses.

  2. Drop it onto ship.page

Drag your .html file, .zip or folder into the browser uploader, pick it from your computer, or paste raw HTML straight into the box. You do not need to create an account, enter an email address or add a credit card.

  3. Share the live HTTPS link or QR code

Your page is live in seconds on its own subdomain over HTTPS. Copy the URL or download the PNG QR code from the success screen to share it right away.

  4. Claim the page later to keep it online

You can claim it later with a free account using Google or an email link, still with no card required, and it stays online as long as you keep it.

What other no-signup hosts ask for after you drop

Several big platforms have a browser drop page that lets you start without logging in, but they treat anonymous uploads as a handoff to an account signup. ship.page opens directly to visitors with no gate and no claim timer required to make the link usable.

Netlify Drop (app.netlify.com/drop) accepts a folder, ZIP or single HTML file with no account to start, and its docs note that deploys under 50 MB work best while single files over 10 MB may get stuck. However, a site dropped without signing in stays behind a temporary password until you claim it with a Netlify account, and Netlify's blog notes that an unclaimed drop expires on its own.

Vercel Drop (vercel.com/drop) and Cloudflare Drop (cloudflare.com/drop) both let you drop a file, folder or ZIP from the browser without signing in first. Since October 19, 2026, Vercel Drop runs static sites without an account, but those deployments expire after one hour unless you sign in and claim the project (and framework projects require a signed-in account from the start). Cloudflare Drop publishes on a workers.dev address running on Cloudflare Workers rather than Pages, and you must claim the deployment within 60 minutes with a Cloudflare account to keep it.

Tip: Pick Netlify, Vercel or Cloudflare when you already have an account with them and want the drop to live inside that dashboard. Pick ship.page when you want a link anyone can open right away without signing up.

What you can upload without an account on ship.page

All four upload methods in the browser work without signing up: you can drag in a single .html file, drop a .zip archive, drop a folder from your computer, or paste HTML code. If you want to turn an HTML file into a URL for a class project or client preview, a single file is all you need.

For multi-file projects, make sure index.html is your homepage and check that your file paths match the exact uppercase and lowercase letters of your file names, because paths are case-sensitive. If you host a ZIP file that has a single top folder inside it, ship.page unwraps that outer folder automatically.

A lone PDF, image or video file is not accepted by itself, so put it inside a folder or ZIP alongside an index.html file that displays or links to it. Folder uploads go up as one request of at most 10 MB with the files encoded inside (roughly 7 MB of raw files) on every plan, so zip bigger folders before uploading.

  • Single .html file: up to 10 MB on every plan.
  • ZIP upload on free: up to 25 MB compressed, 100 MB unpacked, up to 100 files.
  • Rate and traffic on free: up to 10 deploys a minute, unlimited uploads and no bandwidth limits.
  • Supported static files: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly and JSON.
  • Not supported: PHP, Node.js, Python, databases, WordPress or custom domains.

How routing, privacy and updates work

Every upload gets its own subdomain served over HTTPS and is sent with a noindex header, so search engines leave it out and ship.page does not list uploads anywhere public. Anyone with the link can open it, and free pages show a small "Hosted on ship.page" badge that visitors can close.

Page addresses follow your folder layout: a file named about.html opens at /about.html, while the clean path /about only works when the file is saved at about/index.html. There is no single-page-app fallback and no custom 404 page, so use hash routes like #/about if your JavaScript app handles its own routing, and turn off .br or .gz pre-compression unless you include a JavaScript decompressor.

On the free HTML hosting plan, pages cannot be updated in place; uploading a new version creates a new link. If you want to publish HTML without GitHub from a terminal or script, developers can also deploy via one curl command (POST https://ship.page/deploy), the MCP server at https://ship.page/mcp, or the GitHub Action.

When to claim a page or upgrade to Pro

Publishing needs no account at all. If you later want to see your uploads in one place, you can sign in with Google or an email link (no credit card) to claim the page, and it stays online as long as you keep it.

Pro costs $4 a month (monthly billing, cancel anytime, no yearly plan) and is built for pages you update or protect. On Pro, pages never expire (or you can pick any expiry from 60 seconds), you can re-upload or edit a page and keep the same link, and the badge is removed.

  • Password protection for private links.
  • Bigger ZIPs: up to 100 MB compressed (400 MB unpacked) and 10,000 files per upload.
  • Higher deploy rate: up to 120 deploys a minute.
  • Up to 5 custom subdomains like yourname.ship.place (3 to 40 characters of a-z, 0-9 and single hyphens) that you can point at any of your pages and move anytime.

Questions

Can I host an HTML file for free without creating an account?

Yes. On ship.page you can drag an HTML file, a ZIP or a folder into the browser, or paste HTML code, and get a live HTTPS link in seconds with no account, no email and no credit card. Single HTML files can be up to 10 MB and ZIPs can be up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked) with up to 100 files on the free forever plan.

Why does Netlify Drop ask for a password on my uploaded site?

When you drop a folder, ZIP or HTML file on Netlify Drop without signing in, Netlify places the site behind a temporary password until you claim it with a Netlify account. On ship.page, anonymous uploads open directly for anyone with the link with no password gate.

Do Vercel Drop and Cloudflare Drop work without an account?

Both let you start a deployment from the browser without logging in, but both require you to claim the deployment with an account after 60 minutes (one hour) to keep it online. Vercel Drop also requires a signed-in account from the start if you upload a framework project instead of a static site.

Will search engines index the page I upload without signing up?

No. Every page uploaded to ship.page is served with a noindex header so search engines leave it out, and ship.page does not list uploads anywhere public. Only people who have your link or scan your QR code can open it.

Can I update my page and keep the same URL without an account?

On the free plan, a page cannot be updated in place, so uploading a new file gives you a new link. With Pro for $4 a month, you can re-upload or edit a page and keep the exact same link, or point up to 5 custom subdomains like yourname.ship.place at any of your pages.

What kinds of websites work on ship.page?

Any static site made of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly and JSON works. Server-side code like PHP, Node.js, Python, databases and WordPress is not supported, and contact forms need a third-party form service.
