REPLIT FREE LINK OFFLINE? 25 MB ZIPS, 100 FILES

Why did my Replit website go offline?

Your Replit website went offline because the free Starter plan takes a published app link down after a set time, and you can move any plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript project to ship.page for free with no signup or credit card. Drop in a single .html file up to 10 MB, a folder, or a .zip archive up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked) with up to 100 files and get a live HTTPS link in seconds.

How to move an HTML project from Replit to ship.page

  1. Download your project files from Replit

Export your project from Replit so you have the folder or .zip archive on your computer. Make sure the main file is named index.html so it loads as the homepage.

  2. Check whether your project is static

If your project is plain HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images and fonts, it is ready to upload as is. If it is a React or Vite frontend, run your build step first and use the built output folder that contains index.html.

  3. Drop the folder, ZIP or HTML file onto ship.page

Open ship.page in your browser and drag in your index.html file, your project folder, or your .zip archive. No account or credit card is needed, and a ZIP with one top-level folder is unwrapped automatically.

  4. Share your new HTTPS link or QR code

Your site goes live in seconds on its own subdomain over HTTPS, and the success screen includes a QR code with a PNG download. You can claim the upload with a free account (sign in with Google or an email link, no card) to manage it from a dashboard.

Which Replit projects you can move to ship.page

Project typeWorks on ship.pageWhat to do
Plain HTML, CSS and JSYesDownload the files or ZIP from Replit and drop them onto ship.page.
A built React or Vite appYes, with hash routesUpload the built folder with index.html; use /#/about routes or Netlify.
A Node or Python serverNoUse a host that runs backend server code and databases.

Why does a free Replit website stop working?

On the Replit Starter (free) plan, you get 1 published app, the link goes down after 30 days, and the live page shows a Made with Replit badge. Once that 30-day window ends, visitors who open your link see an offline page instead of your site.

If the project you built in Replit only uses static files like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, audio, video, fonts, JSON or WebAssembly, you do not need a server to keep it online. You can host a ZIP file or a folder directly on ship.page with no signup.

What if my Replit project uses React, Vite, Node or Python?

ship.page serves static files only and does not run PHP, Node.js, Python, databases or WordPress. If your Replit app runs a Node or Python backend server, you need a host that runs server code rather than a static host, and HTML forms on a static page need a third-party form service.

If you used Replit to host a vibe-coded app built with React or Vite that runs entirely in the browser, upload the built output folder that contains index.html. On ship.page, a client-side route like /about works after the visitor starts on the home page, but opening or refreshing /about directly returns 404 because there is no single-page-app fallback.

To avoid 404s on refresh, switch your router to hash routes like /#/about, which always work on ship.page. If you need clean path routes like /about to rewrite to index.html on refresh, Netlify, Cloudflare Pages and Vercel can rewrite every path to index.html.

Tip: File paths on ship.page are case-sensitive, and a page saved as about.html opens at /about.html unless you place it at about/index.html.

Free plan limits and when to use Pro

The ship.page free plan is free forever with no trial, no credit card, no ads, unlimited uploads and no bandwidth limits. You can publish without an account, and free pages show a small Hosted on ship.page badge that visitors can close.

For $4 a month (billed monthly, cancel anytime), Pro pages don't expire while you're on Pro, let you re-upload or edit a page and keep the same link, remove the badge, and add password protection. Pro also includes up to 5 custom subdomains like yourname.ship.place that you can point at any of your pages and move anytime.

  • Free single HTML file limit: up to 10 MB (same on every plan).
  • Free ZIP limit: up to 25 MB compressed, 100 MB unpacked, 100 files per upload, 10 deploys a minute.
  • Folder uploads: sent as one request up to 10 MB (roughly 7 MB of files); zip bigger folders first.
  • Pro limits: ZIPs up to 100 MB (400 MB unpacked), 10,000 files per upload, 120 deploys a minute.

Privacy and search indexing on ship.page

Every uploaded page is sent with a noindex header, so search engines leave it out of search results, and ship.page does not list uploads anywhere public. Anyone who has your link can open the site in their browser.

If you are looking for free website hosting after testing an idea or after you make a website with AI, you can also automate deployments using one curl command (POST https://ship.page/deploy), the MCP server at https://ship.page/mcp, or the GitHub Action.

Questions

Why did my free Replit website link expire?

Replit's free Starter plan allows 1 published app and takes the link down after 30 days. It also displays a Made with Replit badge while the site is online.

Can I move my Replit HTML website to ship.page for free?

Yes, if your site uses static files like HTML, CSS, JavaScript and images. Download your files or a ZIP from Replit and drag them onto ship.page with no account or credit card required.

Does ship.page run Node.js or Python projects from Replit?

No. ship.page hosts static files only and does not run Node.js, Python, PHP or databases. For a server app, use a host that runs backend code.

Why does my React or Vite app from Replit give a 404 when I refresh a subpage?

ship.page does not have a single-page-app fallback, so navigating to /about from the home page works, but opening or refreshing /about directly returns 404. Use hash routes like /#/about on ship.page, or use Netlify, Cloudflare Pages or Vercel if you need every path rewritten to index.html.

Can I update my website on ship.page without changing the URL?

On the free plan, a page cannot be updated in place and a new upload gets a new link. On the $4 a month Pro plan, pages don't expire while you're on Pro and you can re-upload or edit a page while keeping the exact same link.
