Prepare your index.html file, folder or ZIP
Name your main file index.html so it opens as the homepage. You can upload one .html file up to 10 MB, a folder of static files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly or JSON), or a .zip up to 25 MB with up to 100 files.
Drag it into ship.page in your browser
Open ship.page and drop your file, folder or ZIP onto the page, or paste raw HTML. You do not need an account, an email address or a credit card.
Share your live HTTPS subdomain or QR code
Your site is live in seconds on its own random subdomain over HTTPS, and the success screen gives you a QR code with a PNG download. Sign in with Google or an email link to claim the upload, and it stays online as long as you keep it.
Your options
ship.page

- Getting a live HTTPS link in seconds from an HTML file, folder or ZIP with no account.
- Free
- Free forever with no signup, unlimited uploads, no bandwidth limits, HTML up to 10 MB, and ZIPs up to 25 MB (100 files).
- Catch
- Free links use a random subdomain (picking a vanity subdomain requires the $19 a month Team plan), and no plan supports custom domains or server code.

- Best for
- Developers who want a free owner.github.io address tied to a public Git repository.
- Free
- Published sites up to 1 GB at owner.github.io with a 100 GB monthly soft bandwidth limit, 10 builds an hour, and custom domain support.

Cloudflare Pages
- Best for
- Larger static sites that need a chosen name.pages.dev address and no bandwidth quota.
- Free
- Free name.pages.dev address, no bandwidth quota, 500 builds a month, 20,000 files per site (25 MiB per file), and 100 custom domains per project.

- Free
- Free name.netlify.app address with 300 credits a month (15 credits per production deploy, 20 credits per GB of bandwidth).

Do I need to buy a domain to host a website?
No, you do not need to buy a domain name to put a website on the internet. A domain is a paid root address like example.com, while a subdomain is a free address attached to a host's existing domain, which works in every browser with HTTPS included.
If you just want a working link right now, free website hosting on ship.page assigns its own random subdomain the moment you drop your files in the browser. You skip domain registrars, DNS records and account forms.
When should I use another free subdomain host?
Pick the tool that matches whether you need to choose the subdomain name for free, connect a custom domain later, or run server code. You can also compare more providers in our guide to the best free static hosting.
- Choose Cloudflare Pages or GitHub Pages if you want to pick your subdomain name (name.pages.dev or owner.github.io) for free and connect a custom domain later.
- Choose Neocities for a personal site at name.neocities.org with 1 GB storage and 200 GB monthly bandwidth.
- Choose Vercel Hobby ($0 for personal, non-commercial use) if you want a vercel.app address with 100 GB of fast data transfer, 1,000,000 CDN requests a month and 100 deployments a day.
- Choose InfinityFree if your site uses PHP and MySQL and needs a free subdomain such as name.rf.gd with 5 GB of disk space.
- Choose ship.page when you want zero signup, no credit card, and a link in seconds from an HTML file, folder or ZIP.
How long does a free ship.page link stay online?
You can publish with no signup. If you sign in with Google or an email link to claim your page with a free account (no card), it stays online as long as you keep it.
Free pages show a small Hosted on ship.page badge that visitors can close, and every page is served with a noindex header so search engines do not list it. On Pro and Team plans, pages never expire (or you can set any expiry from 60 seconds), the badge is removed, and you can update a page in place while keeping the same link.
Tip: On the $19 a month Team plan you can also pick a vanity subdomain, while Pro is $4 a month (billed monthly, cancel anytime).
What files and paths work on ship.page?
When learning how to publish a website on ship.page, remember that it hosts static files only: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly and JSON. A lone PDF, image or video file is not accepted by itself, so put it inside a folder or ZIP with an index.html file.
- Folder uploads go up as one request of at most 10 MB (roughly 7 MB of files); zip bigger folders first, up to 25 MB on Free or 100 MB on Pro.
- File paths are case-sensitive, and a ZIP with a single top folder is unwrapped automatically.
- A file named about.html opens at /about.html, while the clean path /about requires a folder with about/index.html.
- There is no single-page-app fallback or custom 404 page, so React or Vue apps with client-side routing should use hash routes like #/about.
- Files are served as they are with no Content-Encoding, so turn off .br or .gz pre-compression in your build or include a JavaScript decompressor.
Questions
Can I host a website for free without buying a domain?

Can I choose my own subdomain name on ship.page?
On the free plan and the $4 a month Pro plan, each upload gets a random subdomain. Choosing a vanity subdomain is included on the $19 a month Team plan. If you want to pick a subdomain name for free, use GitHub Pages, Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, Neocities or InfinityFree.
Can I connect a custom domain to ship.page later?
