DEPLOY A STATIC HTML SITE, FREE, NO SIGNUP

Deploy a static HTML site: Netlify, GitHub Pages, Vercel

You can deploy a static HTML site by dragging your folder, ZIP or .html file into a browser drop zone or pushing it to a Git host. ship.page publishes it free forever with no signup, no account and no credit card, turning a single HTML file up to 10 MB or a ZIP up to 25 MB (100 files) into a public HTTPS link live in seconds.

How to deploy a static HTML site on ship.page

  1. Check your homepage file name

Make sure your main file is named index.html if you are uploading a folder or a ZIP. If you only have one HTML file, you can upload it directly or paste the code into the browser.

  2. Prepare your folder or ZIP

Keep all CSS, JavaScript and images in the same folder with matching case-sensitive paths. Browser folder uploads go up as one request of at most 10 MB (roughly 7 MB of files), so compress larger sites into a ZIP up to 25 MB on the free plan.

  3. Drop your files into ship.page

Drag your HTML file, ZIP or folder onto the upload box on this page. You do not need an account, email address or credit card.

  4. Share your public link

Your site is live in seconds over HTTPS on its own subdomain, with a downloadable PNG QR code on the success screen. You can publish without an account, or claim the page with a free account (no card) to manage it from a dashboard.

How does Netlify Drop deploy an HTML site?

Netlify Drop takes a folder, ZIP or single HTML file at app.netlify.com/drop with no account needed to start. Without signing in, your files are published as-is with no build step, and deploys under 50 MB work best while single files over 10 MB may get stuck.

A site dropped on Netlify without signing in stays behind a temporary password until you claim it with a Netlify account, and Netlify's blog notes that an unclaimed drop expires on its own. If you want drag and drop website hosting that gives visitors a public link right away without a password wall, use ship.page.

How do you deploy an HTML site on GitHub Pages?

GitHub Pages requires a GitHub account and a repository before you can upload anything. You do not need Git installed on your computer: inside your repository, click Add file and then Upload files to drag in up to 100 files at a time (up to 25 MiB per file), then open Settings and Pages to pick a branch and publish at username.github.io/repository a few minutes later.

GitHub Pages is a strong pick when you need a custom domain or have a public site up to 1 GB with a soft limit of 100 GB of bandwidth a month and 10 builds an hour. It is only free for public repositories on GitHub Free, and it is not allowed as free hosting for a commercial, e-commerce or SaaS business. If you want to publish HTML without GitHub and keep your source files out of a public repo, drop them into ship.page instead.

How do Cloudflare Pages and Vercel Drop work?

Cloudflare offers two paths for static HTML: Direct Upload inside a Cloudflare Pages account (up to 1,000 files of 25 MiB each in the browser, or 20,000 files via the wrangler command line, with 500 builds a month, 100 custom domains per project at name.pages.dev and no bandwidth quota) or Cloudflare Drop at cloudflare.com/drop. Cloudflare's docs now suggest starting new projects on Workers, and Cloudflare Drop publishes a folder, ZIP or HTML file on a workers.dev address with no account to start, though you must claim it within 60 minutes with a Cloudflare account to keep it.

Vercel Drop at vercel.com/drop lets you deploy a file, folder or ZIP from the browser with no Git or CLI. Since October 19, 2026, static sites work on Vercel Drop without an account, but those deployments expire after one hour unless you sign in and claim the project, and framework projects require a signed-in account from the start.

When should you pick ship.page vs another host?

Pick ship.page when you want a public link in seconds without creating an account, setting up a repository or handing visitors a temporary password. You can publish without an account, or claim the page with a free account (sign in with Google or an email link, no card) to manage it from a dashboard. Read our guides on how to publish a website and how to host a website for more ways to prepare your files.

Pick GitHub Pages or Cloudflare Pages when you need to attach your own custom domain name, since no ship.page plan offers custom domains. On ship.page, upgrading to Pro for $4 a month (billed monthly, cancel anytime) gives you pages that stay online while you're on Pro, in-place updates that keep the same link, password protection, ZIPs up to 100 MB (400 MB unpacked), 10,000 files per upload and up to 5 custom subdomains like yourname.ship.place.

  • Static files only on ship.page: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly and JSON work, with no PHP, Node.js, Python, database or WordPress.
  • Clean URLs use folders: about.html opens at /about.html, while /about works when saved as about/index.html.
  • Client-side routers should use hash routes like #/about because there is no single-page-app fallback or custom 404 page.
  • Every upload includes a noindex header and is never listed publicly, so only people with your link can open it.
  • Developers can also deploy via curl (POST https://ship.page/deploy), the MCP server at https://ship.page/mcp, or the GitHub Action.

Questions

Where can I put my HTML site online for free without signing up?

You can drag your HTML file, folder or ZIP into ship.page and get a live HTTPS link in seconds with no account and no credit card. Netlify Drop, Cloudflare Drop and Vercel Drop also accept files without signing in first, but Netlify puts a temporary password on unclaimed sites, while Cloudflare Drop and Vercel Drop expire after 60 minutes unless you create an account and claim them.

Can I deploy a multi-page HTML website with CSS and images?

Yes. Put your index.html homepage, extra HTML pages, CSS stylesheets, JavaScript files and images into a folder or a ZIP file and drop it into ship.page. On the free plan you can upload up to 100 files in a ZIP up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked), and file paths are case-sensitive.

How do I update my deployed HTML site without changing the link?

On the ship.page free plan, a page cannot be updated in place, so uploading a new version creates a new link. With ship.page Pro at $4 a month, you can re-upload or edit a page and keep the same link, and you can also point up to 5 custom subdomains like yourname.ship.place at any of your pages.

Do I need Git or a command line to deploy a static HTML site?

No. ship.page, Netlify Drop, Cloudflare Drop and Vercel Drop all work by dragging a folder or ZIP into your web browser. Even GitHub Pages lets you upload up to 100 files at a time through its web interface without installing Git, though you still have to create a GitHub account and a repository first.

Can I use a custom domain on these free HTML hosts?

GitHub Pages and Cloudflare Pages both support custom domains on their free plans, with Cloudflare Pages allowing up to 100 custom domains per project. ship.page does not offer custom domains on any plan; every upload gets its own subdomain, and Pro includes up to 5 custom subdomains ending in .ship.place.
