Where can I put my HTML site online?
Any static host can put your HTML site online for free, and the only real difference is the account and setup required; ship.page lets you drop an .html file, .zip or folder right in your browser with no signup and no credit card. The free forever plan takes single HTML files up to 10 MB, ZIPs up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked) and 100 files per upload, and your link is live in seconds.
A file. A folder. A fresh start.
Your static site, one link away.

How to put your HTML site online with ship.page
Name your homepage index.html
Put your HTML, CSS, JavaScript and images in one folder with index.html at the root so it opens as the homepage. Keep file paths matching the exact uppercase and lowercase letters of your file names, because paths on the server are case-sensitive.
Drag your file, folder or ZIP into the browser
Open ship.page and drop in a single .html file up to 10 MB, a folder, or a .zip up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked), or paste raw HTML. Folder uploads go up as one request of at most 10 MB (roughly 7 MB of files), so zip larger folders first.
Share the live HTTPS link or QR code
Your site is live in seconds on its own subdomain over HTTPS, and the success screen gives you a QR code with a PNG download. You can publish without an account, or claim the page with a free account (no card) to manage it from a dashboard.

- Free
- Free for public repositories on GitHub Free, with published sites up to 1 GB at owner.github.io, a 100 GB monthly soft bandwidth limit, and 10 builds an hour.

Vercel Drop
- Best for
- Quickly previewing a static file, folder or ZIP in the browser for under an hour.
- Free
- Deploys a static file, folder or ZIP from the browser with no Git, CLI or account required to start.

Which host should I pick for my HTML files?
If you have a finished HTML file or folder and want a working link right now, ship.page is the fastest path because there is no signup wall, no temporary password on your page, and no one-hour timer. You drop your files into the browser and share the URL. See our guide to drag and drop website hosting for a closer look at browser uploaders.
Other hosts make sense when you need features ship.page skips. Pick GitHub Pages or Cloudflare Pages if you want to connect your own custom domain, since ship.page does not offer custom domains on any plan. Pick Cloudflare Pages when your site has thousands of files, or GitHub Pages when your code is already in a public repository and is not for a commercial, e-commerce or SaaS business.
If you want to try another browser drop tool, keep their anonymous limits in mind. Netlify Drop puts unclaimed uploads behind a temporary password until you make an account, and Vercel Drop deletes unclaimed static deployments after one hour. You can compare more options in our roundup of free HTML hosting.
What files work on a static HTML host?
ship.page serves static files as-is, which covers HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly and JSON. You cannot upload a lone PDF, image or video file by itself, so place media inside a folder or ZIP alongside an index.html file. If your ZIP has a single top folder, ship.page unwraps it automatically.
Server-side code does not run here: there is no PHP, Node.js, Python, database or WordPress support. If your page has a contact form, connect it to a third-party form service. Files are also served with no Content-Encoding header, so pre-compressed .br or .gz builds need a JavaScript decompressor or compression turned off before you follow how to publish a website.
- A page saved as about.html opens at /about.html, while /about/ works when saved as about/index.html.
- There is no single-page-app fallback or custom 404 page, so React or Vue apps should use hash routes like #/about.
- Every upload sends a noindex header and is never listed publicly, so only people with the link can open it.
- Developers can also deploy with one curl command (POST https://ship.page/deploy), the MCP server at https://ship.page/mcp, or the GitHub Action.
How do I update my site or keep the same link?
On the free plan, you can publish without an account, or sign in with Google or an email link (no card) to claim the page and see it in your dashboard. Free pages show a small Hosted on ship.page badge that visitors can close. A free page cannot be updated in place, so uploading a new version creates a new link.
If you want to re-upload or edit a page and keep the same link, Pro is $4 a month (billed monthly, cancel anytime, no yearly plan). Pro pages don't expire while you're on Pro, or you can set any expiry from 60 seconds, and they remove the badge. Pro also adds password protection, ZIPs up to 100 MB (400 MB unpacked), 10,000 files per upload, 120 deploys a minute, and up to 5 custom subdomains like yourname.ship.place that you can point at any of your pages. Compare how that stacks up against other providers on best free static hosting.
Questions
Where can I put my HTML site online for free without an account?
You can drop an HTML file, a ZIP or a folder directly onto ship.page with no account and no credit card. Unlike Netlify Drop, which locks unclaimed sites behind a temporary password, or Vercel Drop, which expires unclaimed static sites after one hour, ship.page gives you a public HTTPS link and QR code right away.
How big can my HTML site be on the free plan?
On ship.page, the free plan accepts a single HTML file up to 10 MB, or a ZIP file up to 25 MB that unpacks to up to 100 MB across 100 files. You can upload up to 10 deploys a minute with unlimited total uploads and no bandwidth limits. If you drag a folder without zipping it first, the encoded request must be under 10 MB, which fits roughly 7 MB of files.
Can I use my own custom domain for my HTML website?
ship.page does not offer custom domains on any plan; Pro ($4 a month) gives you up to 5 custom subdomains like yourname.ship.place (3 to 40 characters of lowercase letters, numbers and single hyphens). If you need your own domain for free, use GitHub Pages or Cloudflare Pages, which supports up to 100 custom domains per project.
Will my HTML site show up on Google?
No. Every page uploaded to ship.page is served with a noindex header so search engines leave it out, and ship.page does not list uploads anywhere public. Anyone you give the link to can open the site in their browser.
Can I host PHP, WordPress or a database on these free hosts?
No. ship.page, Netlify Drop, GitHub Pages and Cloudflare Pages only host static files like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly and JSON. They do not run PHP, Node.js, Python, databases or WordPress, and forms require a third-party form service.
