Share an HTML dashboard with your team
Send your team a live link instead of an email attachment so your HTML dashboard opens as an interactive page in any browser. With ship.page, you publish .html files up to 10 MB, folders, or .zip archives up to 25 MB (up to 100 files) for free with no signup, no account, and no credit card, and your link is live in seconds.
A file. A folder. A fresh start.
Your static site, one link away.
Uploading publishes your file. The link is public but unlisted, not password-protected, so leave out secrets and confidential content.
- Max single HTML file size on all plans
- 10 MB
- Max ZIP upload on the free plan (100 MB unpacked)
- 25 MB
- Included per upload on the free forever plan
- 100 files
- Pro plan for passwords and updating the same link
- $4/mo
How to publish your dashboard as a link
Check your dashboard files
If your dashboard is a single self-contained file, any .html file up to 10 MB works as is. If it uses separate CSS, JavaScript, JSON data, or image files, name the main file index.html and keep everything in one folder or zip it into a .zip archive up to 25 MB.
Drop the file, folder, or ZIP on ship.page
Drag your .html file, folder, or .zip into the uploader in your browser, or paste the raw HTML code directly. You do not need to create an account or enter a credit card.
Send the live HTTPS link to your team
Your dashboard is live in seconds on its own subdomain with a QR code you can download as a PNG. Copy the URL into Slack, Teams, or email so teammates can open it on any computer or phone.
Claim or protect the page if you need to
Publish without an account, or claim the page with a free account (no card) to manage it from a dashboard. Upgrade to Pro for $4 a month if you want to add a password or re-upload new numbers to the exact same link.
How different ways to share an HTML dashboard behave for your team
| Way to share | Opens as a page | Keeps CSS and images | Account |
|---|---|---|---|
| ship.page link | Yes, in any desktop or mobile browser | Yes, when uploaded in a folder or ZIP | None required to publish |
| Email attachment | Downloads first; often opens as raw code on phones | No, linked local files stay on your computer | Email account |
| Google Drive or Dropbox link | No, shows a preview or forces a file download | No, browsers do not run the linked assets | Google or Dropbox account |
Why emailing an HTML file or using Drive breaks your dashboard
When you attach an .html file to an email or drop it in chat, your teammates have to download it before they can see it. On a phone or tablet, tapping a downloaded HTML attachment often displays raw source code instead of charts, and any linked CSS stylesheets, scripts, or images left on your computer fail to load.
Cloud storage folders do not work as web hosts either. Google Drive shut down googledrive.com/host on August 31, 2016 after deprecating it on August 31, 2015, so shared HTML files no longer open as working pages. Dropbox stopped rendering HTML in shared links for free accounts on October 3, 2016, and shut down Public folder links for Basic users on March 15, 2017 and for all users on September 1, 2017.
Turning your HTML into a link fixes both problems. Everyone on your team clicks one URL and sees the live page right away in their browser.
How to include external scripts, JSON data, and charts
Many reporting tools and notebooks export a single HTML file with all styles and chart data bundled inside, which you can upload directly if it is under 10 MB (for example, when you share a Plotly chart). If your dashboard loads separate .css, .js, .json, font, or image files, put the main file named index.html inside a folder with its assets and upload the folder or host a ZIP file.
Every plan supports static files only: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly, and JSON. File paths are case-sensitive, and there is no server code such as PHP, Node.js, Python, or a database.
- Single .html file: up to 10 MB on every plan.
- Folder upload: sent as one request up to 10 MB with the files encoded inside (roughly 7 MB of files); zip bigger folders first.
- ZIP upload: up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked) and 100 files on the free plan, or 100 MB (400 MB unpacked) and 10,000 files on Pro.
- Single top folder in a ZIP: unwrapped automatically so index.html becomes the homepage.
- Client-side routing: there is no single-page-app fallback, so multi-view dashboards should use hash routes like #/sales.
- Pre-compressed builds: files are served with no Content-Encoding, so turn off .br or .gz compression or include a JavaScript decompressor.
How to keep team numbers private and update weekly reports
Every uploaded page is sent with a noindex header so search engines leave it out, and ship.page does not list uploads anywhere public. Anyone who has the link can open it, and free pages show a small Hosted on ship.page badge that visitors can close.
On the free plan, a page cannot be updated in place, so uploading next week's dashboard gives you a new link. If your team bookmarks one URL or the report has internal numbers, Pro is $4 a month (billed monthly, cancel anytime) and lets you password protect an HTML page and re-upload or edit your dashboard while keeping the same link.
Pro pages do not expire while you are on Pro (or you can pick any expiry from 60 seconds), never show the badge, and include up to 5 custom subdomains like yourname.ship.place that you can point at any of your pages and move any time.
Tip: If your team generates dashboards automatically in a script or pipeline, developers can publish with one curl command (POST https://ship.page/deploy), the MCP server at https://ship.page/mcp, or the GitHub Action.
When another tool is a better fit
Netlify Drop (app.netlify.com/drop) also accepts a folder, ZIP, or single HTML file in the browser with no account needed to start, and its docs note that deploys under 50 MB work best while single files over 10 MB may get stuck. However, a site dropped on Netlify without signing in stays behind a temporary password until you claim it with a Netlify account, and Netlify's blog notes that an unclaimed drop expires on its own.
Use ship.page when you want a link your team can open right away without you signing up first, or when you want $4/month password protection and in-place updates. Pick a full hosting platform or a server host instead if you need a custom domain (no ship.page plan offers custom domains) or if your dashboard runs live Python, Node.js, or database queries on a server.
Questions
How do I share an HTML dashboard with my team without them downloading a file?
Upload your .html file, folder, or .zip archive to ship.page and send your team the live HTTPS link. It is free with no signup required, and the dashboard opens as a working web page in any desktop or mobile browser.
Can I share an HTML file through Google Drive or Dropbox so it opens as a webpage?
No. Google Drive shut down its website hosting feature on August 31, 2016, and Dropbox stopped rendering HTML in shared links for free accounts on October 3, 2016 and ended Public folder links for all users on September 1, 2017. Both services now show a file preview or force a download instead of running the page.
What if my HTML dashboard uses separate CSS, JavaScript, or JSON files?
Name your main dashboard file index.html, keep it in the same folder as its CSS, JavaScript, JSON, or image files, and drag the whole folder or a .zip file into ship.page. The free plan accepts up to 100 files and a ZIP up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked).
Can I password protect the dashboard link I send to my team?
Yes, on the Pro plan for $4 a month. Pro lets you set a password on any page, remove the Hosted on ship.page badge, and claim up to 5 custom subdomains like yourname.ship.place.
Can I update the dashboard next week without changing the link?
On the free plan, a page cannot be updated in place and a new upload gets a new link. On the $4 a month Pro plan, you can re-upload or edit a page and keep the exact same link so your team's bookmarks stay working.
Will search engines index my team's HTML dashboard?
No. Every page uploaded to ship.page is served with a noindex header so search engines leave it out, and uploads are never listed anywhere public. Anyone with the link can view it, or you can add a password with Pro.
