HTML GAME, PLAYABLE LINK, FREE

Host and share an HTML game online

Upload your game to ship.page to turn a single .html file (up to 10 MB), a folder or a .zip archive (up to 25 MB and 100 files on the free plan) into a playable HTTPS link in seconds. ship.page publishes it free forever with no signup, no account and no credit card, and Pro ($4 a month) keeps the same link when you update the build.

How to publish your HTML game in seconds

  1. Check your game entry file

If your game is a single .html file (up to 10 MB), you can upload it with any file name. If your game uses extra scripts, sprites or audio files, put them in a folder or a .zip file with the main file named index.html at the root.

  2. Drop the file, folder or ZIP onto ship.page

Drag your .html file, folder or .zip archive into the uploader on ship.page, or paste your HTML code directly. Free uploads take a ZIP up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked) with up to 100 files, or a folder up to roughly 7 MB of files.

  3. Send the live link or QR code

Your game goes live in seconds on its own HTTPS subdomain. Copy the URL to share in a chat, or download the PNG QR code from the success screen so friends can scan and play on their phones.

  4. Claim the page or upgrade when you push updates

You can publish without an account, or sign in with Google or an email link (no card) to claim the upload in a dashboard. A free page gets a new link when you re-upload; Pro ($4 a month) lets you update the game and keep the same URL.

Single HTML file vs folder or ZIP with game assets

Many small games, prototypes and digital invitations pack all their HTML, CSS and JavaScript into one file. You can turn an HTML file into a link on ship.page as long as the file is 10 MB or smaller.

Engines that export separate JavaScript bundles, WebAssembly binaries, sprite sheets, fonts, audio and JSON levels work too. Put index.html and its asset folders together, and upload the ZIP file or drag the folder straight into your browser.

  • A ZIP with a single top folder is unwrapped automatically so index.html becomes the homepage.
  • Folder uploads send all files in one 10 MB request (roughly 7 MB of raw files), so zip larger builds first.
  • Free ZIPs support up to 25 MB compressed (100 MB unpacked) and 100 files; Pro raises that to 100 MB compressed (400 MB unpacked) and 10,000 files.
  • File paths are case-sensitive, so match Assets/jump.wav vs assets/jump.wav in your code.
  • Files are served with no Content-Encoding header, so turn off .br or .gz pre-compression in your game engine or include a JavaScript decompressor.

Tip: If your game uses client-side routing between screens, use hash routes like #/level-2 because there is no single-page-app fallback.

How to update your game without breaking the link

When you share an HTML game on the free plan, each upload creates a brand-new subdomain. That works well for game jam snapshots, one-off demos or an HTML invitation where you only send the link once.

If players bookmark your game or you post the URL in a forum, Pro ($4 a month, cancel anytime) lets you re-upload a new ZIP or edit the HTML in place while keeping the exact same link. Pro pages do not expire while your subscription is active, and you can also set a password or claim up to 5 custom subdomains like yourname.ship.place.

When GitHub Pages or Netlify Drop is a better fit

ship.page is built for speed and privacy: every upload sends a noindex header so search engines stay out, and no plan supports custom domains. If your project has different needs, another free HTML5 game hosting option may fit better.

  • Pick GitHub Pages if you want a custom domain or your build is up to 1 GB; it is free for public repositories on GitHub Free with a 100 GB monthly soft bandwidth limit, though it cannot be used for commercial, e-commerce or SaaS businesses.
  • Pick Netlify Drop if you already use a Netlify account, where deploys under 50 MB (and individual files under 10 MB) work best.
  • Note that an anonymous Netlify Drop stays behind a temporary password and expires on its own until you claim it with a Netlify account.
  • Pick ship.page when you want a playable link in seconds with no signup, no password wall for visitors, unlimited bandwidth and a built-in QR code.

Automate game deploys from your editor or CI

You do not have to use the browser uploader for every build. Developers can publish with one curl command (POST https://ship.page/deploy), connect an AI coding tool to the MCP server at https://ship.page/mcp, or trigger deploys from a GitHub Action.

The free plan allows 10 deploys a minute, and Pro allows 120 deploys a minute.

Questions

How do I share an HTML game online for free?

Drag your .html file, game folder or .zip archive onto ship.page. You get a live HTTPS link and a downloadable PNG QR code in seconds with no account, no credit card and no bandwidth limits.

Can I send an HTML invitation or interactive card as a link?

Yes. Drop your single .html file (up to 10 MB) or a ZIP containing your HTML, images and fonts into ship.page, and copy the link to text or email to your guests. Every page includes a noindex header so search engines do not list your private invitation.

Does ship.page support WebAssembly, audio and game assets?

Yes. Static files including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WebAssembly, images, audio, video, fonts and JSON all work. Server-side code like PHP, Node.js, Python or a database is not supported.

What happens when I fix a bug and need to update my game?

On the free plan, pages cannot be updated in place, so uploading a new build gives you a new link. On the $4 a month Pro plan, you can re-upload your file or ZIP and keep the same link, or point one of up to 5 custom yourname.ship.place subdomains at any page.

Why did my Unity or Godot web build fail to load pre-compressed files?

ship.page serves files as they are with no Content-Encoding header. Export your web build with compression turned off, or enable the engine's built-in JavaScript decompressor so the browser unpacks .gz or .br files itself.
