Upload a website folder with no signup
Drag your website folder or a ZIP of it onto ship.page, where index.html becomes the home page and relative links to CSS, images and scripts keep working with no account. ship.page publishes your folder, .zip or .html file free forever with no signup and no credit card, live in seconds, with up to 100 files per upload and a 25 MB ZIP limit (100 MB unpacked).

How to publish a website folder without an account
Check that index.html is inside the folder
Make sure the main page is named index.html at the top of your folder. Keep your CSS, JavaScript, images and fonts in their subfolders so relative links like style.css or images/logo.png match their exact file names.
Drag the folder in on a computer, or zip it on a phone
On a desktop browser, drag the whole folder onto ship.page. Direct folder uploads go up as one request of at most 10 MB with the files encoded inside (roughly 7 MB of files), so if you are on a phone or your folder is bigger, host a ZIP file up to 25 MB instead.
Share your live HTTPS link or QR code
Your site is live in seconds on its own subdomain over HTTPS, and the success screen gives you a QR code with a PNG download. You can publish without an account, or claim the page later with a free account (no card) and it stays online as long as you keep it.
Ways to upload a website folder and whether they require an account

| Netlify Drop | Yes (under 50 MB best) | Yes (under 50 MB best) | Unclaimed drops stay behind a password |

| GitHub web upload | Yes (up to 100 files at once) | No (unpack first) | Yes, GitHub account required |
What happens to subfolders, CSS, images and links
When you use drag and drop website hosting on ship.page, the folder structure stays intact. The file named index.html at the root becomes your homepage, and any subfolder with its own index.html opens at /folder/. If you compress the folder first, a single top folder inside a ZIP is unwrapped automatically.
File paths are case-sensitive, so Images/Photo.jpg and images/photo.jpg are treated as two different paths. A separate page saved as about.html opens at /about.html, while the short /about path only works when the file is saved as about/index.html. There is no single-page-app fallback and no custom 404 page, so React, Vue or other client-side apps should use hash routes like #/about.
- Static files only: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly and JSON all work.
- No server code: PHP, Node.js, Python, databases and WordPress do not run, and forms need a third-party form service.
- Files are served as-is with no Content-Encoding header, so turn off .br or .gz pre-compression in your build tool.
- Single HTML file limit is 10 MB on every plan, with unlimited uploads and no bandwidth limits.
Tip: If you only have one self-contained page with inline styles, you can skip the folder and go straight from HTML to website by dropping the .html file or pasting the code.
How other folder upload tools compare
ship.page is built for instant, open links with no login wall. The free plan is free forever with no ads, and every uploaded page sends a noindex header so search engines leave it out. Free pages show a small closable badge and cannot be updated in place; upgrading to Pro for $4 a month (monthly billing, cancel anytime) removes the badge, lets you update a page and keep the same link, adds password protection, and raises limits to 10,000 files and 100 MB ZIPs (400 MB unpacked), plus up to 5 custom subdomains like yourname.ship.place.
Netlify Drop (app.netlify.com/drop) also accepts a folder, ZIP or single HTML file without logging in first, and Netlify says deploys under 50 MB work best while single files over 10 MB may get stuck. However, a site dropped without signing in stays behind a temporary password until you claim it with a Netlify account, and unclaimed drops expire on their own.
Cloudflare Pages Direct Upload and GitHub Pages are strong choices when you already want an account-based setup or a custom domain, since ship.page does not offer custom domains on any plan. Cloudflare Pages is free with no bandwidth quota and up to 100 custom domains per project at name.pages.dev, taking up to 1,000 files of 25 MiB each in the dashboard (or 20,000 via the wrangler CLI), though Cloudflare's docs now suggest starting new projects on Workers. GitHub's web uploader (Add file, Upload files) takes up to 100 files at a time and 25 MiB per file without Git installed, and publishes a few minutes later at username.github.io/repository once you enable Pages in your repository settings.
When to zip your folder before uploading
Browser folder uploads pack all your files into a single request of at most 10 MB, which fits roughly 7 MB of actual files on every plan. If your folder has between 7 MB and 25 MB of assets, or if you are uploading from a phone or tablet where folder drag-and-drop is not supported by the file picker, turn the ZIP to website instead.
Developers who want to skip the browser altogether can publish a folder or archive with one curl command (POST https://ship.page/deploy), the MCP server at https://ship.page/mcp, or the GitHub Action. The free plan allows 10 deploys a minute, and Pro allows 120 deploys a minute.
Questions
Can I upload a website folder for free without creating an account?
Yes. On ship.page you can drag a website folder or a ZIP file directly into your browser with no signup and no credit card. Your index.html file becomes the homepage and the live HTTPS link is ready in seconds.
Why do my images or CSS break after I upload my folder?
Broken assets almost always come from absolute paths or mismatched capitalization. Use relative paths like ./style.css or images/pic.png instead of paths starting with a slash or C:/, and make sure the uppercase and lowercase letters in your HTML match the file names.
What is the maximum folder size I can upload on ship.page?
Dragging an uncompressed folder directly into the browser supports roughly 7 MB of files (sent inside one 10 MB request) and up to 100 files on the free plan. If you compress the folder into a ZIP first, the free plan accepts a 25 MB ZIP (up to 100 MB unpacked), and the $4 a month Pro plan accepts a 100 MB ZIP (up to 400 MB unpacked) with up to 10,000 files.
Does Netlify Drop let you host a folder without signing up?
Netlify Drop lets you drag a folder onto the page without logging in first, but the uploaded site stays locked behind a temporary password until you claim it with a Netlify account, and unclaimed sites expire on their own. On ship.page, anonymous uploads are immediately viewable by anyone with the link.
Can I update the files in my folder later and keep the same URL?
On the free plan, a page cannot be updated in place, so uploading a revised folder gives you a new link. With the $4 a month Pro plan, your pages never expire, you can re-upload a folder or ZIP to update an existing page without changing the link, and you get up to 5 custom subdomains on ship.place.
