Make your HTML file a website
Drop your .html file on ship.page (or pick it from your phone or computer, or paste the code) and copy the link; your website is live in seconds for free with no signup and no credit card. The free forever plan accepts single HTML files up to 10 MB, ZIPs up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked) and folders up to 100 files with unlimited uploads.
A file. A folder. A fresh start.
Your static site, one link away.

How to put an HTML file on the internet
Save your page as an .html file
If you have one page, any .html name works. If your project has separate CSS, JavaScript or image files, name the main page index.html and keep everything together in one folder or ZIP.
Drop the file on ship.page
Drag your .html file, folder or ZIP into the upload box, tap to pick the file from your phone or computer, or paste raw HTML straight into the browser. You do not need an account or a credit card.
Copy your live HTTPS link or QR code
Your page is live in seconds on its own subdomain over HTTPS. Copy the URL to share it anywhere, or download the PNG QR code shown on the success screen.
Claim the page to keep it online
Publish without an account, or claim the upload with a free account (sign in with Google or an email link, no card) and it stays online as long as you keep it. On Pro ($4 a month), you can re-upload or edit a page and keep the same link.

What makes an HTML file a real website
An HTML file on your laptop or phone opens at a local file path that only your device can see. A website is THAT exact same file served at a public HTTPS address so anyone with the link can open it in a browser.
When you upload an HTML file to ship.page, the server puts it on its own subdomain over HTTPS and adds a noindex header so search engines leave it out. Anyone you send the link to can open it right away, and ship.page never lists uploads anywhere public.
Single HTML file vs a folder with CSS and images
If your styles and scripts are inside one .html file, you can host a single HTML page up to 10 MB directly. If you just want to test or inspect raw code before sharing, you can also paste it into the HTML viewer and publish in one step.
When your page links to external stylesheets, scripts, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly or JSON, put everything in a folder or ZIP with index.html as the homepage. Remember that file paths are case-sensitive, so style.css and Style.css are treated as different files.
- Single HTML file: up to 10 MB on every plan, or paste the code directly.
- Folder upload: up to 100 files on the free plan, sent as one request up to 10 MB (roughly 7 MB of files); zip larger folders first.
- ZIP upload: up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked) on the free plan; a single top folder inside the ZIP is unwrapped automatically.
- Multi-page paths: a page saved as about.html opens at /about.html, while about/index.html opens at /about/.
Tip: A lone PDF, image or video file is not accepted by itself; put it in a folder or ZIP alongside an index.html file.
How other drag-and-drop tools compare
Several browser drop tools let you start without signing in, but most lock or delete the link quickly unless you create an account. If you need a fast HTML to link tool where the URL works for anyone immediately with no signup wall, ship.page is built for that.
When you need a custom domain or a full Git workflow, another platform can be the better pick. Here is what each alternative asks for before your link stays usable for visitors.
- Netlify Drop (app.netlify.com/drop): accepts a single HTML file, folder or ZIP without an account (deploys under 50 MB work best and single files over 10 MB may get stuck), but an unclaimed site stays behind a temporary password and expires on its own until you claim it with a Netlify account.
- Cloudflare Drop (cloudflare.com/drop): publishes a single HTML file, folder or ZIP to a workers.dev address on Cloudflare Workers without an account to start, but you must claim the deployment within 60 minutes with a Cloudflare account to keep it.
- Vercel Drop (vercel.com/drop): deploys a static file, folder or ZIP from the browser without an account (since October 19, 2026), and those unclaimed deployments expire after one hour unless you sign in and claim the project.
- GitHub Pages: best when you want a custom domain and already use Git; it is free for public repositories on GitHub Free (sites up to 1 GB at owner.github.io, 100 GB monthly soft bandwidth limit, 10 builds an hour), requires a GitHub account, and does not allow free hosting for commercial, e-commerce or SaaS businesses.
When you need updates, passwords or larger uploads
On the free forever plan, you get unlimited uploads and no bandwidth limits, and a free page shows a small "Hosted on ship.page" badge that visitors can close. A free page cannot be updated in place, so uploading a new version gives you a new link.
Pro is $4 a month (billed monthly, cancel anytime, no yearly plan) and removes the badge. Pro pages never expire (or you can pick any expiry from 60 seconds), and you can re-upload or edit a page while keeping the same link, add password protection, and upload ZIPs up to 100 MB (400 MB unpacked) with up to 10,000 files and 120 deploys a minute.
Pro also includes up to 5 custom subdomains, such as yourname.ship.place, which you can point at any of your pages and move to another page anytime (3 to 40 characters of a-z, 0-9 and single hyphens). Developers can also publish via curl (POST https://ship.page/deploy), the MCP server at https://ship.page/mcp, or the GitHub Action.
Questions
How do I make an HTML file on my phone into a website?
Open ship.page in your phone's browser, tap the upload box to pick the .html file from your files app (or paste the HTML code), and wait a few seconds. You will get a live HTTPS link and a downloadable PNG QR code with no signup required.
Do I need to name my file index.html?
If you upload a single .html file by itself, any file name works. If you upload a folder or a ZIP file, the homepage must be named index.html.
Can I include CSS, JavaScript and images with my HTML file?
Yes. Put your index.html file, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly and JSON into one folder or a ZIP file and drop it on ship.page. The free plan supports up to 100 files per upload and ZIPs up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked).
Can I update my HTML website without changing the link?
On the free plan, a page cannot be updated in place, so uploading a revised file creates a new link. On the Pro plan ($4 a month), you can re-upload or edit a page and keep the exact same URL, or point one of your 5 custom .ship.place subdomains at any page.
Does ship.page run PHP, Node.js, Python or WordPress?
No. ship.page hosts static files only, so server-side code and databases do not run. If your HTML page has a contact form, connect it to a third-party form service.
Will Google index the HTML file I upload?
No. Every page on ship.page is served with a noindex header so search engines leave it out, and uploads are never listed anywhere public. Only people who have your link can open the page.
