Send an HTML invitation as a link
To send an HTML invitation as a link, upload your .html file, folder or .zip to ship.page and share the HTTPS URL that appears in seconds. ship.page publishes it free forever with no signup, no account and no credit card, taking a single HTML file up to 10 MB or a ZIP up to 25 MB (100 files max) with a downloadable PNG QR code.

Your static site, one link away.
Uploading publishes your file. The link is public but unlisted, not password-protected, so leave out secrets and confidential content.

How to turn your HTML invitation into a shareable link
Prepare your invitation file or ZIP
If your invitation is one self-contained page, keep it as a single .html file under 10 MB. If it uses separate photos, custom fonts or CSS files, put everything in a folder or a .zip up to 25 MB with the main file named index.html.
Drop the file into ship.page
Open ship.page in your browser and drag in your .html file, .zip or folder, or paste your raw HTML directly. You do not need an account or a credit card to publish.
Copy the HTTPS link or download the QR code
Your invitation goes live in seconds on its own subdomain over HTTPS. Copy the link to text or email it to guests, or download the PNG QR code shown on the success screen to put on a printed card.
Claim or upgrade if you need to edit details later
You can publish without an account, or claim the page with a free account (using Google or an email link, no card) and it stays online as long as you keep it. A free upload gets a new link each time you re-upload, while Pro ($4 a month) lets you update the page and keep the exact same link.
Ways to share an HTML invitation as a link
| Route | Account | Time to a link | Update later |
|---|---|---|---|
| ship.page free | No account needed | Seconds | New upload gets a new link |
| ship.page Pro ($4/mo) | Free sign-in + $4/mo | Seconds | Re-upload or edit on the same link |
| GitHub Pages | GitHub account + repo | Minutes to set up | Push to repository to update same URL |
| Netlify Drop | Account to remove password | Seconds (locked until claimed) | Claim with account to redeploy |
Why you cannot just text or email an .html file to guests
When you attach an .html file in WhatsApp, iMessage or email, mobile phones often show raw code, block the JavaScript or refuse to open the attachment inside a browser. If your invitation website has separate images or stylesheet files in a folder, an attachment leaves them behind so guests only see broken icons.
Hosting the page turns it into a normal HTTPS web address. Guests tap the link in a message or scan a QR code on a paper invite, and the page opens right away in Safari or Chrome on any phone.
How to include photos, fonts, music and RSVP forms
ship.page hosts static files, which means HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio and video all work out of the box. Put your main invitation in index.html at the root of your folder or ZIP so it opens at the main address, and double-check that your file paths match the exact uppercase and lowercase letters of your file names.
Folder uploads go up as one request of at most 10 MB with the files encoded inside it, which fits roughly 7 MB of files on every plan. If your wedding website or birthday website has high-resolution photos over that size, compress the folder into a .zip first: the free plan takes ZIPs up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked) with up to 100 files.
Because ship.page does not run server code like PHP, Python, Node.js or a database, an HTML form tag needs a third-party form service or an embedded form to collect RSVPs.
- Single .html file: up to 10 MB on every plan, or paste the HTML directly.
- Folder drag-and-drop: up to roughly 7 MB of files (10 MB encoded request).
- ZIP upload (free): up to 25 MB zipped, 100 MB unpacked, 100 files max.
- ZIP upload (Pro, $4/mo): up to 100 MB zipped, 400 MB unpacked, 10,000 files max.
- Single PDF, image or video: wrap it inside a folder or ZIP with an index.html file.
What happens if the event time or venue changes
On the free plan, a page cannot be updated in place: uploading a fixed HTML file creates a brand-new link. That works well when your details are final before you text the URL to guests.
If you already sent the link out or printed the QR code on paper cards, upgrading to Pro for $4 a month lets you re-upload or edit your invitation and keep the exact same link. Pro pages never expire, remove the small closable "Hosted on ship.page" badge, and let you add a password or claim up to 5 custom subdomains like yourname.ship.place.
Tip: Every uploaded page includes a noindex header and is never listed publicly by ship.page, so search engines leave your invitation out while anyone with the link can open it.
When GitHub Pages or Netlify Drop is a better fit
If you want to connect your own custom domain name (which no ship.page plan offers) or update the same URL for free using Git, GitHub Pages is the better pick. It is free for public repositories on GitHub Free, supports custom domains, and gives you up to 1 GB per site with a 100 GB monthly soft bandwidth limit and 10 builds an hour, though it requires a GitHub account, a public repository and is not allowed for commercial businesses.
Netlify Drop also accepts a folder, ZIP or single HTML file in the browser, where deploys under 50 MB work best and single files over 10 MB may get stuck. However, a site dropped on Netlify without signing in stays behind a temporary password and expires on its own unless you claim it with a Netlify account, so ship.page is faster when you want a public link with zero signup.
Questions
How do I send an HTML invitation as a link for free?
Drag your .html file, folder or .zip onto ship.page in your browser. It gives you a live HTTPS link and a downloadable PNG QR code in seconds, free forever with no signup and no credit card.
Can guests open the HTML invitation link on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Because ship.page serves your file over HTTPS on its own subdomain, the link opens like any normal website in Safari, Chrome or an in-app browser when you send it by text, WhatsApp or email.
What if I need to fix a typo after I send the invitation link?
On the free plan, a page cannot be updated in place, so a new upload gets a new link. With ship.page Pro at $4 a month (cancel anytime), you can re-upload or edit your page and keep the same link and QR code working.
Will search engines find my private event invitation?
No. Every page uploaded to ship.page is sent with a noindex header so search engines leave it out, and ship.page does not list uploads anywhere public. Only people who have the link can open it, and Pro lets you add password protection.
Can I upload an invitation with photos and background music?
Yes. Put your index.html file along with your images, fonts and audio files into a folder or a .zip file and drop it into ship.page. The free plan supports up to 100 files and 25 MB per ZIP (100 MB unpacked) with unlimited bandwidth.
Can I just upload a PDF or image of my invitation instead of HTML?
The browser uploader does not accept a lone PDF, image or video file by itself. Put the image or PDF inside a folder or ZIP alongside an index.html file that displays or links to it, then upload that folder or ZIP.
