How to put your HTML resume online in under a minute
Prepare your resume file or folder
If all your CSS is inside one file, you can upload that single .html file directly. If you have separate stylesheets, fonts or a headshot, put them in a folder or a .zip file with your main page named index.html.
Drop it onto ship.page
Open ship.page in your browser and drag in the .html file, .zip or folder, or paste your HTML code directly. You do not need an account or a credit card to publish.
Copy the live link and QR code
Your page is live in seconds on its own subdomain over HTTPS. Put the link on your PDF resume and LinkedIn profile, or download the PNG website QR code from the success screen for printed resumes and business cards.
Claim or upgrade when you want to edit later
You can publish without an account, or claim the page with a free account (sign in with Google or an email link, no card) and it stays online as long as you keep it. On the free plan a new upload gets a new link; on Pro ($4 a month) you can re-upload and keep the same link.
Ways to host an HTML resume or single page online
| Route | Account | Time to a link | Update later |
|---|---|---|---|
| ship.page free | None required (optional free account) | Seconds | New upload gets a new link |
| ship.page Pro ($4/mo) | Account required | Seconds | Re-upload or edit and keep the same link |
| GitHub Pages | GitHub account and public repository | Several minutes for repo setup | Push to the repository to update the same URL |
| Netlify Drop | None to drop, account required to remove temp password | Seconds (behind a password until claimed) | Claim with a Netlify account to redeploy |
Which tool should I use to host an HTML resume?
ship.page is the fastest way when you already have an HTML file and want a clean link a recruiter can open on a phone or laptop right now. You drop the file in the browser, get an HTTPS link in seconds without signing up, and every page sends a noindex header so search engines do not index your phone number or work history.
If you want to host your resume at a custom domain you own, or you already keep your resume in Git and do not mind a public repository, GitHub Pages is the better pick. It is free for public repositories on GitHub Free, supports custom domains, allows published sites up to 1 GB at owner.github.io with a 100 GB monthly soft bandwidth limit and 10 builds an hour, and is meant for personal or project pages rather than commercial, e-commerce or SaaS businesses.
Netlify Drop (app.netlify.com/drop) also accepts a folder, ZIP or single HTML file in the browser, where deploys under 50 MB work best and single files over 10 MB may get stuck. However, a site dropped without signing in stays behind a temporary password until you claim it with a Netlify account, and unclaimed drops expire on their own, so you cannot hand an unclaimed Netlify Drop link to a hiring manager.
What if I fix a typo after I send my resume link?
On the ship.page free plan, a free page cannot be updated in place, so uploading a fixed HTML file gives you a brand-new URL. That works fine before you send applications out, or when you only share the link in a message.
Once your link is printed on a PDF CV, a business card or a job application you already submitted, upgrade to Pro for $4 a month (monthly billing, cancel anytime). Pro pages never expire, let you re-upload or edit your page while keeping the exact same link, and remove the closable "Hosted on ship.page" badge.
- Claim up to 5 custom subdomains on Pro, like yourname.ship.place, and point them at any of your pages.
- Move a custom subdomain to a new page any time while the original random URL still works.
- Add password protection on Pro if you only want invited recruiters or guests to open the page.
- Pro raises the ZIP limit to 100 MB (400 MB unpacked) and 10,000 files per upload.

How to package images, fonts and a downloadable PDF
ship.page serves static files: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly and JSON. A lone PDF, image or video file is not accepted by itself, so if you want a "Download PDF resume" button, put the PDF in the same folder as your index.html and link to it with a relative path.
File paths are case-sensitive, so if your HTML links to Resume.pdf, a file named resume.pdf will not load. Keep your folder under 100 files and 25 MB zipped on the free plan, or upload a folder directly if the encoded request is under 10 MB (roughly 7 MB of files).
- Name your main resume file index.html so it opens at the root of your link.
- A ZIP with a single top folder is unwrapped automatically on upload.
- Extra pages like projects.html open at /projects.html, or at /projects/ if placed in projects/index.html.
- Turn off .br or .gz pre-compression in build tools, because files are served as they are with no Content-Encoding.
Can I use the same workflow for a wedding invitation or local HTML file?
Yes, any self-contained HTML page works the exact same way when you want to turn HTML into a link. People use ship.page to share a local HTML file from a laptop, send a digital wedding invitation with a map and schedule, or hand a client a one-page prototype.
Because ship.page runs static files only (no PHP, Node.js, Python or database), wedding RSVPs or contact forms on a resume need a third-party form service or a mailto link. Every upload gets a downloadable PNG QR code on the success screen, which you can drop straight onto a printed save-the-date card.
Questions
How do I host my HTML resume online for free?
Go to ship.page and drag in your .html file, .zip file or folder, or paste your HTML code. Your resume goes live in seconds over HTTPS on its own subdomain, for free, with no account and no credit card.
Can I attach a PDF version of my resume too?
You cannot upload a standalone PDF by itself, but you can put your PDF inside a folder or ZIP alongside an index.html file and link to the PDF from your HTML page. On the free plan, a ZIP can be up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked) and hold up to 100 files.
Will search engines index my phone number and address on my HTML resume?
No. Every page uploaded to ship.page is sent with a noindex header so search engines leave it out, and ship.page does not list uploads anywhere public. Anyone who has the link can open it, and on Pro ($4 a month) you can also add a password.
Can I keep the same resume link when I update my HTML file?
On the free plan, a page cannot be updated in place and a new upload gets a new link. On the Pro plan ($4 a month, cancel anytime), you can re-upload or edit your page and keep the same link, and you can also point up to 5 custom subdomains like yourname.ship.place at your pages.
Can I use my own custom domain name?
No plan on ship.page offers custom domains. Pro includes up to 5 custom subdomains under ship.place (3 to 40 characters of lowercase letters, numbers and single hyphens), or you can use GitHub Pages if you need to connect a domain you bought.
How do I host a wedding invitation HTML page?
Put your wedding invitation HTML, photos and fonts into a folder or ZIP with the main file named index.html, then drop it onto ship.page. You get a live link and a downloadable PNG QR code in seconds, and for RSVP forms you can embed a third-party form service since ship.page hosts static files only.
