How to turn your HTML game into a link

  1. Save or copy your game

If ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini wrote your game in one file, copy the HTML code or save it as index.html. If your game uses extra JavaScript files, images or sound effects, put index.html and those assets in one folder or zip them up.

  2. Paste or drop it on ship.page

Open ship.page in your browser. Paste your HTML code into the uploader, or drag in your .html file, folder or .zip file with no account and no credit card.

  3. Send the link or scan the QR code

Your game is live in seconds on its own HTTPS subdomain. Copy the URL for group chats, or scan the QR code on the success screen (or download the PNG) to play on your phone right away.

Prompt to generate a one-file HTML game with AI

Prompt

Write a complete, playable browser game based on [game idea, e.g. classic Snake, brick breaker, or two-player tic tac toe] inside a single self-contained index.html file. Put all CSS inside a <style> tag and all JavaScript inside a <script> tag with no external libraries, images or audio files. Make the layout responsive so it fits both desktop screens and mobile phones without scrolling. Include both keyboard controls (arrow keys and WASD) and touch controls that work on a phone screen. Show the current score, display the all-time high score saved in localStorage, and include a visible Restart button that resets the game without reloading the page. Return only the valid HTML code.

Copy the HTML output from ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and paste it straight into ship.page to get a playable link.

How do I share a game I made with ChatGPT?

Many hobby games written by AI or by hand fit inside a single HTML file with inline CSS and JavaScript. A game made of one HTML file can be pasted straight into ship.page, or dropped in as an .html file up to 10 MB, using the HTML to link uploader.

You do not need to set up a repository or configure a build step. If you want to publish other AI-generated projects, read our guide on how to publish a ChatGPT website.

What if my JavaScript game has images, audio or multiple files?

A game with images or sounds goes up as a folder or ZIP. Make sure the main file that starts your game is named index.html at the top level, and keep your file names and code references matching in exact letter case because file paths are case-sensitive.

On the free tier, you can upload up to 100 files in a ZIP up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked). Folder uploads travel in a single request capped at 10 MB (roughly 7 MB of raw files), so zip any folder larger than that before you drop it in. If you build creative coding games, you can also host a p5.js sketch the same way, and for exports from a full game engine, see the free HTML5 game hosting guide.

  • Static files work out of the box: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, audio, video, fonts, JSON and WebAssembly.
  • A ZIP with a single top folder is unwrapped automatically so index.html becomes your homepage.
  • Pre-compressed .br or .gz game builds are served as they are with no Content-Encoding, so turn compression off or include a JavaScript decompressor.
  • Server code like Node.js, PHP, Python or a database is not supported.

How do I play my HTML game on my phone?

When you upload to ship.page, the success screen gives you an HTTPS link and a QR code with a PNG download so you can scan it with your phone camera and start playing.

Anyone with the link can play in their mobile browser, and search engines ignore the page because every upload is served with a noindex header. You can learn more about how the website QR code works for sharing on mobile.

Tip: If you want friends to play on their phones, make sure your game handles touch events or has on-screen buttons, since mobile browsers do not have arrow keys.

How long does the game link stay online, and what happens to high scores?

Anonymous uploads stay live for 30 days. Sign in with Google or an email link to claim your game on a free account and keep it online for 90 days.

Games that keep a high score in localStorage save it per browser and per link, so a new link starts with an empty score table. Free pages cannot be updated in place, which means uploading a bug fix on the free tier gives you a new URL and resets everyone's saved localStorage progress.

With Pro for $4 a month (see pricing), your links never expire and you can re-upload or edit your game on the exact same URL so players keep their link and their local high scores. Pro also adds password protection, removes the closable "Hosted on ship.page" badge, and raises the ZIP limit to 100 MB (400 MB unpacked) and 10,000 files.

Questions

How do I share an HTML game with friends for free?

Open ship.page, paste your HTML code or drag in your .html file, folder or ZIP, and copy the live HTTPS link. It is free, requires no signup, and stays online for 30 days (or 90 days if you claim it with a free account).

Can I share a game that ChatGPT wrote in one HTML file?

Yes. Copy the code from ChatGPT and paste it straight into ship.page, or save it as an .html file up to 10 MB and drop it into the browser uploader. You get a shareable link and a QR code in seconds.

How do I play my HTML game on my phone?

Upload your game to ship.page and scan the QR code shown on the success screen with your phone camera. The game opens in your mobile browser over HTTPS without needing any app install.

Will my game keep its localStorage high scores if I fix a bug?

Games that save high scores in localStorage store them per browser and per link, so a new link starts with an empty score table. On the free plan, a new upload gets a new link, while the $4 a month Pro plan lets you update your game on the same link so saved scores stay intact.

Can I upload a JavaScript game with sound effects and sprite sheets?

Yes. Put your index.html file, JavaScript files, images and audio into a folder or a .zip file and drag it onto ship.page. Free uploads take up to 100 files and 25 MB in a ZIP (100 MB unpacked).

Does ship.page run multiplayer Node.js servers or databases?

No. ship.page hosts static client-side files only, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, audio and WebAssembly, and does not run Node.js, PHP, Python or databases.
