Uploading publishes your file. The link is public but unlisted, not password-protected, so leave out secrets and confidential content.

How to turn HTML code into a website

  1. Copy your whole code block from <!DOCTYPE html> to </html>, then open the Paste HTML tab in the uploader above and paste it in.
  2. Enter your email address so we can send you a backup link to claim the page later, then click publish. No password or credit card is needed.
  3. Open your new website, copy the HTTPS link to send it, or download the QR code as a PNG.

Or publish saved HTML code from a terminal

curl -X POST https://ship.page/deploy \
  -H "Content-Type: text/html" \
  --data-binary @index.html

Save your code as index.html and run one curl request to get your live URL back, with no email, account or API key.

Included with every pasted page

  • Pasted HTML code saved as index.html (up to 10 MB)
  • An unguessable subdomain with HTTPS, ready a few seconds after you publish
  • Browser JavaScript and libraries loaded from a CDN run as written
  • A downloadable PNG QR code and a one-click copy link button
  • Up to 10 free uploads per minute with no daily cap

When your AI gave you separate HTML, CSS and JS blocks

If ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini gave you three separate code blocks for HTML, CSS and JavaScript, the quickest fix is to reply and ask the AI to put everything into a single HTML file with <style> and <script> tags. Then copy that one block into the Paste HTML tab.

If you prefer to keep the files separate, save them in one folder on your computer. Name the main HTML file index.html so it loads as the front page. Then drop the whole folder into the uploader (up to 100 files and 10 MB), or compress it into a ZIP file up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked). Relative paths between your HTML, CSS and JavaScript files are kept as they are.

How images, fonts and external libraries work

Code that points to full https:// URLs works right away when you paste it. That includes web fonts, stylesheet frameworks like Tailwind or Bootstrap, JavaScript libraries from a CDN, and images hosted online.

If your HTML code uses images, audio, video or fonts saved on your computer, pasting the code alone will not include those files. Put index.html and your media files together in one folder, keep the relative file paths matching your computer, and upload the folder or a ZIP of it.

What works on the page

Static files only: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts and PDFs. JavaScript runs in the visitor's browser, including libraries loaded from a CDN. Server-side code doesn't: no PHP, no Node, no database, no WordPress. If the page works when you open it from your own disk, it works here.

Questions

How do I put the HTML code ChatGPT wrote online?

Copy the full code block from <!DOCTYPE html> to </html>, select the Paste HTML tab in the uploader above, and paste it in. Add your email for the backup link and publish to get a live URL within seconds.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

It's free and there's no account. The uploader asks for an email address only to send you a backup link for claiming the page later. No password, no credit card.

Can I paste HTML code from my phone?

Yes, the uploader works in mobile browsers on iPhone and Android. You can paste HTML code into the Paste HTML tab or pick a saved file from your Files app, and the published link opens on any device.

How long does the link work?

Free links stay live for 30 days. Claim the page with a free login to keep it for 90 days from claiming. Paid plans keep pages online with no expiry.

Who can see my page?

Anyone who has the link. The URL is unguessable, pages ask search engines not to index them and there's no public list of uploads, but free pages aren't password-protected. Leave out passwords and private data; paid plans add password protection.

What if I want to change the code after publishing?

On the free plan, each upload creates a new link and your original link keeps showing what you first published. With Pro ($4 a month), named deployments let you update the code at the same URL from the dashboard, the API or the GitHub Action.

Why does my link show a 404 when I upload a folder or ZIP?

When you upload a folder or ZIP, the main file at the top level must be named index.html to load at the bare link. If your ZIP has a single top-level folder, ship.page uses that folder as the site root automatically. Without an index.html, the bare link returns 404, though every file is still reachable at its own path.
