How to put a Claude artifact on its own link
Make sure the artifact is plain HTML
Look at the code inside your Claude artifact. If it starts with import lines and has export default, it is a React component and will not run as a plain web page. Ask Claude in the chat to rewrite the artifact as one self-contained HTML file with all CSS and JavaScript inline.
Copy the HTML or save the file
Copy the full HTML code from the artifact, or save it to your computer as an .html file up to 10 MB. If your project uses separate images, CSS, or audio files, put them in a folder or a .zip file up to 25 MB with the main page named index.html.
Paste or drop it on ship.page
Open ship.page in your browser, paste the HTML directly, or drag your .html file, folder, or ZIP into the uploader. You do not need an account or a credit card.
Share your live link or QR code
Your artifact is live in seconds on its own HTTPS subdomain. Copy the URL to send to anyone, or download the PNG QR code from the success screen.
Ways to share a Claude artifact
| Option | Who can use it | What viewers get | Catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claude share link | Claude Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise users | Shared artifact via Claude's built-in link | Not on Free; Team and Enterprise owners can block external sharing |
| ship.page free | Anyone on any Claude plan, including Free | Normal web page on its own HTTPS subdomain | Needs plain HTML; 30 days, or 90 days with a free account |
| ship.page Pro | Anyone ($4/month, cancel anytime) | Permanent web page with optional password and no badge | No custom domains; static files only |
Why is the Claude artifact share link not showing?
Artifacts are available on Claude's Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, and they stay private until you share them. However, sharing an artifact with a link is only available on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans (per the Claude Help Center, checked October 2026). If you are on Claude's Free plan, you cannot create a public link inside Claude.
If you already pay for Claude Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise, Claude's built-in Share button (or the Publish or Share & copy link button on older artifacts) is the quickest way to show someone your work. On Team and Enterprise plans, organization owners decide whether artifacts can be shared outside the organization, which is another reason the option may be blocked.
When you are on the Free plan, when your workplace blocks external sharing, or when you want a normal web page outside Claude, copy the HTML and turn your HTML code into a website on ship.page.
How do I turn a React artifact into a working web page?
Claude creates web artifacts in two ways: either as a standard HTML document or as a React component. A web page artifact written in plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript can be pasted into ship.page as it is.
An artifact written as a React component starts with import lines and contains export default. Browsers cannot open raw React code directly, so ask Claude to rewrite it as one self-contained HTML file first. You can read more in our guide to publishing AI-generated HTML.
- Check the top of your artifact code: if it starts with <!DOCTYPE html> or <html>, paste it right into ship.page.
- If it starts with import React or similar import lines, send a follow-up message in Claude: "Rewrite this as a single self-contained index.html file with all CSS and JavaScript inline."
- Static files work out of the box: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly and JSON.
- Server code does not run: PHP, Node.js, Python and databases are not supported, and forms need a third-party form service.
Tip: If you build multi-file projects from the terminal instead of the chat window, see our guide for Claude Code users.
How long does the link stay online, and how do I update it?
When you publish without an account, your page stays live for 30 days. If you sign in with Google or an email link to claim the upload, the free link stays online for 90 days. Free pages cannot be edited in place, so uploading a new version creates a new link.
Every uploaded page is sent with a noindex header so search engines leave it out, and ship.page never lists uploads publicly. Free pages display a small "Hosted on ship.page" badge that visitors can close.
If you want to keep the same URL when Claude makes changes to your code, Pro is $4 a month (billed monthly, cancel anytime). On Pro, pages never expire unless you set an expiry (from 60 seconds up), the badge is gone, and you can add password-protected previews.
- Free limits: 10 MB per single HTML file, 25 MB per ZIP (100 MB unpacked), 100 files per upload, 10 deploys a minute.
- Pro limits ($4/month): 10 MB per single HTML file, 100 MB per ZIP (400 MB unpacked), 10,000 files per upload, 120 deploys a minute.
- Team ($19/month): everything in Pro plus a vanity subdomain.
- Unmetered traffic: no plan meters bandwidth or caps the total number of uploads.
Questions
How do I publish a Claude artifact on the free plan?
Copy the HTML code from your Claude artifact, go to ship.page, and paste it into the uploader. It is free with no signup, and you get a live HTTPS web page link in seconds that lasts for 30 days, or 90 days if you claim it with a free account.
Why does my Claude artifact show a blank page or raw code when I upload it?
Claude likely wrote the artifact as a React component, which starts with import lines and includes export default. Ask Claude to rewrite the artifact as a single self-contained HTML file with inline CSS and JavaScript, then paste that new HTML into ship.page.
Why can't I find the Share button on my Claude artifact?
Sharing an artifact with anyone who has the link is only available on Claude Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, not on the Free plan. On Team and Enterprise plans, organization owners can also turn off external sharing. Older artifacts may show a Publish or Share & copy link button instead of Share.
Can I update my page after Claude edits the artifact?
On the free tier, pages cannot be updated in place, so pasting the updated code gives you a new URL. On the $4 a month Pro plan, you can re-upload or edit your page and keep the exact same link.
Will search engines index the Claude website I host here?
No. Every page on ship.page is served with a noindex header so search engines leave it out, and uploads are never listed anywhere public. Anyone with the link can open it, and on the $4 a month Pro plan you can add a password.
Can I use my own custom domain for a Claude artifact?
No plan on ship.page offers custom domains. Every upload gets its own HTTPS subdomain, and the $19 a month Team plan lets you choose a vanity subdomain.
