Free Netlify alternatives with no credit limits
Host a static site for free with no signup on ship.page: drag in an .html file up to 10 MB, a .zip up to 25 MB, or a folder, and get a live HTTPS link in seconds with unlimited uploads and no bandwidth limits. If Netlify's 300 monthly credits ran out and paused your projects, ship.page skips credit math, accounts, and credit cards for fast static deploys.
A file. A folder. A fresh start.
Your static site, one link away.
Uploading publishes your file. The link is public but unlisted, not password-protected, so leave out secrets and confidential content.

- $0 forever

Move a static site off a paused Netlify account in under a minute
Locate your built static folder or ZIP
Find the folder with your index.html file (such as dist, build, or public) or zip it up. If your folder is larger than roughly 7 MB of files, zip it first so it fits the 25 MB free ZIP limit (100 MB unpacked).
Drop the files onto ship.page
Drag your .html file, .zip, or folder straight into the browser on ship.page, or paste raw HTML. You do not need an account, a Git repository, or a credit card.
Share the live link or QR code
Your site goes live in seconds on its own HTTPS subdomain, and the success screen gives you a downloadable PNG QR code. Unlike Netlify Drop, visitors do not hit a temporary password screen.
Claim or upgrade if you want it longer
Unclaimed pages stay online for 30 days. Sign in with Google or an email link to keep the upload online for 90 days with free dashboard restores, or pay $4 a month on Pro so links never expire.

How Netlify compares to free static hosting alternatives

|---|---|---|---|
| ship.page | Unlimited uploads and bandwidth, 25 MB ZIP, 100 files | No bandwidth cap; links expire after 30 or 90 days (free restore) | No (own subdomain per upload) |
| Cloudflare Pages | 500 builds/mo, 20,000 files, 25 MiB/file, no bandwidth quota | Builds wait until next month | Yes (up to 100 per project) |
| GitHub Pages | 1 GB site, 100 GB/mo soft bandwidth, 10 builds/hr soft limit | Soft limits; non-commercial public repos only | Yes |

| Render | 5 GB outbound bandwidth/mo on Hobby workspace | Spins down until next month without a payment method ($0.15/GB with one) | Yes |

What changed on Netlify's free plan
Netlify's free plan now runs on 300 credits a month with a hard limit and no top-ups. Each production deploy costs 15 credits and every gigabyte of bandwidth costs 20 credits, which means 10 production deploys and 7.5 GB of traffic will exhaust the entire monthly allowance.
When those 300 credits run out, every project on the account is paused and visitors see a Site not available message until the next billing cycle or until you upgrade to Personal ($9 a month for 1,000 credits) or Pro ($20 a month for 3,000 credits). Even Netlify Drop puts unclaimed uploads behind a temporary password until you create a Netlify account and claim them.
Tip: Deploy previews are still free on Netlify, so teams that already pay for Personal or Pro and depend on Netlify's Git workflow, preview comments, and serverless functions still get a solid platform.
When another host is the better pick
Pick the host that matches how you build and who owns the project. Every free static host trades off account friction, commercial rules, or custom domains.
- Choose Cloudflare Pages when you want Git deploys, up to 100 custom domains per project, and no bandwidth quota (up to 20,000 files at 25 MiB each), though Cloudflare's docs now suggest starting new projects on Workers.
- Choose GitHub Pages when your code is in a public GitHub repository, your site is under 1 GB, and the project is not a commercial, e-commerce, or SaaS business.
- Choose Vercel Hobby for personal, non-commercial Git projects that fit inside 100 GB of fast data transfer and 1,000,000 CDN requests a month.
- Choose Render if you already run apps there and your static site uses under 5 GB of outbound bandwidth a month.
- Choose Netlify when your team uses its Git workflow, free deploy previews, and functions, and you are comfortable paying $9 or $20 a month when 300 credits are not enough.
What to know before moving to ship.page
ship.page is built for pure static output: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly, and JSON. There is no server code (no PHP, Node.js, Python, database, or WordPress), no custom domains on any plan, and every upload sends a noindex header so search engines leave it out.
Each page saved as about.html opens at /about.html, while a short /about URL needs to be saved as about/index.html. There is no single-page-app fallback and no custom 404 page, so React, Vue, or Svelte apps with client-side routing should use hash routes (#/about) before you upload.
- Free plan: 10 MB per single HTML file, 25 MB per ZIP (100 MB unpacked), 100 files per upload, 10 deploys a minute.
- Free lifetime: 30 days without an account, or 90 days with a free account plus free dashboard restores for another 90 days (up to three months after it went offline).
- Pro ($4/mo): pages never expire, re-upload or edit in place to keep the same link, password protection, 100 MB ZIPs (400 MB unpacked), 10,000 files, and no badge.
- Team ($19/mo): everything in Pro plus a vanity subdomain, billed monthly with cancel anytime.
- Automation: publish from a terminal with one curl command (POST https://ship.page/deploy), the MCP server at https://ship.page/mcp, or the GitHub Action.
Questions
Why did my Netlify free site start showing Site not available?
Netlify's free plan now has a hard cap of 300 credits a month, where each production deploy costs 15 credits and each GB of bandwidth costs 20 credits. When you hit 300 credits, Netlify pauses every project on your account until the next month or until you upgrade to Personal ($9 a month) or Pro ($20 a month).
What is the best free alternative to Netlify with no bandwidth limit?
ship.page and Cloudflare Pages both offer free static hosting with no bandwidth quota. Pick ship.page if you want to drop an HTML file, ZIP, or folder in your browser with no account and get a link in seconds; pick Cloudflare Pages if you want Git builds and custom domains.
Does Netlify Drop still work without an account?
You can still drop a folder, ZIP, or HTML file at app.netlify.com/drop without signing in, but the uploaded site stays behind a temporary password until you create a Netlify account and claim it. On ship.page, dropped files go live right away on an HTTPS link with no password wall and no account.
How long do free sites stay online on ship.page?
An unclaimed upload stays online for 30 days. If you sign in with Google or an email link for a free account, your claimed upload stays online for 90 days, and when it goes offline you can restore it from the dashboard for free for another 90 days, up to three months after it went offline.
Can I update my site on the same URL or use a custom domain on ship.page?
No plan on ship.page supports custom domains; every upload gets its own subdomain, and the $19 a month Team plan adds a vanity subdomain. On the free plan a new upload gets a new link, while the $4 a month Pro plan lets you re-upload or edit a page and keep the same link with no expiration.
