How to turn your media kit into a live link

  1. Generate or build your index.html

Use the AI prompt below to create a single index.html file with your bio, audience numbers, past collaborations, rates and contact details. If you are a musician building an electronic press kit, include press quotes, show dates and music links.

  2. Add photos, audio or video in a folder

Put index.html in a folder next to your headshot, downloadable press photos, MP3 or M4A tracks, and MP4 or WebM clips. Note that a lone PDF or image file is not accepted on its own; it must sit inside a folder or ZIP with an index.html file.

  3. Zip the folder if it is over 7 MB

A direct folder upload goes up as one request of at most 10 MB with the files encoded inside it, which fits roughly 7 MB of files. For bigger kits with press photos or audio, compress the folder into a .zip file (up to 25 MB on free, 100 MB on Pro).

  4. Drop it onto ship.page and copy your link

Drag your HTML file, folder or ZIP into the browser uploader, or paste your HTML directly. Your page is live in seconds on its own HTTPS subdomain, complete with a QR code and PNG download for in-person events.

AI prompt for a creator media kit or musician press kit

Prompt

Build a complete, self-contained index.html media kit for [name], a [creator niche or musician genre]. Put all CSS and JavaScript inline in the single file. Design it mobile-first with clean typography and a stylesheet that also prints well on paper. Include these sections: 1. Hero section with a photo at photos/hero.jpg, [name], a one-line tagline, and a primary contact button (mailto:[email]). 2. Short bio ([2-3 sentences about background and audience]). 3. Audience stats displayed as big, easy-to-scan numbers: [stat 1, e.g., 85K Instagram followers], [stat 2, e.g., 4.8% engagement rate], [stat 3, e.g., 120K monthly listeners]. 4. Past partners or press quotes: [list 3-5 brands, venues or publications]. 5. Packages with prices (optional, easy to delete): [package 1 and rate], [package 2 and rate]. 6. Media and downloads section: include an HTML5 audio or video player pointing to media/sample.mp3 or media/reel.mp4, plus download links for high-res press photos located in a press/ folder (press/photo-1.jpg, press/photo-2.jpg). 7. Footer with social links and a contact button.

Replace the bracketed details with your own numbers, then paste the prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.

Why send a web link instead of a PDF attachment?

Brand managers and talent bookers often read pitches on their phones. A PDF attachment makes them pinch and zoom, can bounce when the file is too large for email, and cannot play an embedded video reel or song demo.

A web page adapts to any screen size and plays MP3, M4A, MP4 and WebM files right in the page using standard HTML audio and video tags. If a journalist still wants a printable sheet, a clean HTML page prints to paper or PDF straight from the browser.

Tip: If you only need a quick landing page for your social profiles, see how to publish a link in bio page or a digital business card.

What goes in a media kit or electronic press kit?

Keep the page focused on the numbers and assets a partner needs to say yes. Put your strongest metrics near the top so a reader scanning on a phone sees them without scrolling.

  • Short bio and a clear photo that shows your face or stage setup.
  • Audience numbers: follower counts, engagement rates, average views or monthly listeners.
  • Past collaborations, brand partners, press quotes or notable show dates.
  • Audio and video samples placed next to index.html so bookers can listen without leaving the page.
  • A press folder with downloadable photos linked from the page.
  • Rates or packages, plus a direct email button to book you.

How do you update stats and rates without breaking the link?

A free upload without an account stays online for 30 days, or 90 days if you sign in with Google or an email link to claim it. That fits a single pitch or a short campaign, though a free page cannot be updated in place: uploading a new version creates a new link.

Follower counts and package rates change over time. With Pro for $4 a month, your page never expires (or you can pick any expiry from 60 seconds) and you can re-upload or edit your page while keeping the exact same link you already emailed to brands.

Pro also raises the ZIP limit to 100 MB (400 MB unpacked) with up to 10,000 files, removes the closable "Hosted on ship.page" badge, and adds password protection so you can keep your rate card private. Team is $19 a month and adds a vanity subdomain; see pricing for full details.

Who can see your media kit, and what are the file limits?

Every uploaded page is served with a noindex header, and ship.page never lists uploads anywhere public. Search engines leave your media kit and rates out of search results, while anyone who has the link can open it right away.

Remember that file paths are case-sensitive: if your HTML links to press/Photo.JPG, a file named press/photo.jpg will not load. The free plan allows up to 100 files per upload and a 10 MB limit for an HTML file uploaded on its own, and no plan meters bandwidth or caps the number of uploads.

Tip: Showcasing full client projects alongside your stats works well as a free portfolio website.

Questions

Can I upload a PDF media kit directly to ship.page?

A lone PDF, image or video file is not accepted by the uploader. To share a PDF or high-resolution press photos, put them inside a folder or ZIP alongside an index.html page that links to them.

How do I include downloadable press photos and music in my EPK?

Put your photos, MP3 or M4A audio files, and MP4 or WebM videos in a folder with your index.html file, zip the folder, and upload the ZIP. Free uploads take ZIPs up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked) with up to 100 files, and Pro takes ZIPs up to 100 MB (400 MB unpacked).

Will my follower stats or rate card show up on Google?

No. Every page on ship.page is sent with a noindex header and uploads are never listed publicly, so search engines do not index your kit. If you want to lock your rates behind a password, the $4 a month Pro plan includes password protection.

Can I update my audience numbers later and keep the same link?

On the free plan, pages cannot be edited in place, so a new upload gets a new URL. On the $4 a month Pro plan, you can re-upload or edit your media kit anytime and keep the same link.

How long does a free media kit link stay online?

An unclaimed free upload stays online for 30 days. If you sign in for a free account with Google or an email link and claim the upload, it stays online for 90 days, and Pro pages never expire.

Can I use my own custom domain for my media kit?

No plan offers custom domains. Every upload gets its own HTTPS subdomain on ship.page, and the $19 a month Team plan includes a vanity subdomain.
