How to publish your own link-in-bio page in minutes

  1. Generate or write your index.html file

Copy the AI prompt on this page into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini to get a single self-contained HTML file, or write your own code. Save the result as index.html on your computer, or simply copy the raw HTML code to your clipboard.

  2. Drop your file or paste the code on ship.page

Drag your .html file, a folder with your page and profile photo, or a .zip archive into the browser uploader, or paste your HTML directly. You do not need an account or a credit card to test your design.

  3. Copy your live HTTPS link and QR code

Your page goes live in seconds on its own HTTPS subdomain, and the success screen gives you a downloadable PNG QR code. If you want one URL in your social bio that you can keep and edit later, publish it on Pro (see the pricing page).

Prompt to generate a custom link-in-bio HTML file

Prompt

Write a complete, self-contained index.html file for a mobile-first link-in-bio page under 50 KB total, with all CSS and JavaScript inline. Include a circular avatar using the image URL [avatar URL or initials placeholder], the display name [your name], and a one-line bio reading [your one-line bio]. Below that, create [number] large, tap-friendly link buttons (minimum 48px tall) pointing to [links with labels and URLs]. At the bottom, add a row of social icons using inline SVG for [social platforms and profile URLs]. Use a clean [color theme, e.g., dark mode / warm cream] palette, smooth hover and tap states, and semantic HTML with no external stylesheets or scripts.

Replace the bracketed placeholders with your details, paste the prompt into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, and paste the output directly into ship.page.

When is Linktree the better choice?

Linktree offers four tiers: Free, Starter, Pro, and Premium. Linktree Free is hard to beat if you want a point-and-click editor with unlimited basic links and built-in email and phone sign-up collection without writing a line of code.

Stepping up to Linktree Starter adds a personalized Linktree, unlimited featured links, and basic analytics. Linktree Pro is a paid plan that lets you remove Linktree branding, use custom designs, sell with 0% fees, and connect mailing-list integrations.

If you rely on mailing-list integrations, built-in selling, or sign-up collection without code, stay with Linktree. Use ship.page when you want to write or generate your own HTML and CSS so your page looks nothing like a standard template.

Why does a long-term bio link need Pro ($4/mo)?

Our free tier is built for testing a layout or sharing a temporary campaign link. Free uploads without an account expire after 30 days, or after 90 days if you claim them with a free Google or email sign-in, and free pages cannot be updated in place.

A link in your Instagram, TikTok, or X bio stays up for months and changes every time you launch a project or drop a new video. If you upload a new HTML file on the free plan, you get a brand-new URL and have to update every social profile by hand.

For $4 a month (billed monthly, cancel anytime), ship.page Pro lets you edit or re-upload your page while keeping the exact same link, keeps the page online forever, and removes the small "Hosted on ship.page" badge. If you want a vanity subdomain, the Team plan is $19 a month, though no plan offers custom domains.

  • Free without signup: live for 30 days, new URL on every edit, closable badge.
  • Free with account: live for 90 days, new URL on every edit, closable badge.
  • Pro ($4/mo): never expires, update your HTML and keep the same URL, no badge, optional password protection.
  • Team ($19/mo): everything in Pro plus a vanity subdomain.

What can I put on my custom HTML bio page?

Because ship.page hosts standard static files, you are not restricted to stacked rectangular buttons. You can turn HTML code into a website with custom CSS grids, embedded audio players, video loops, WebAssembly toys, or a full digital business card.

If you include a profile photo or custom web fonts alongside your index.html, drop the whole folder into the uploader (up to roughly 7 MB of files in one folder request) or compress it into a .zip file up to 25 MB on free and 100 MB on Pro. Remember that file paths are case-sensitive, so Avatar.jpg in your folder must match Avatar.jpg in your HTML.

Pages on ship.page are static only, meaning no PHP, Node.js, Python, or database. If you want to collect email sign-ups like Linktree Free does, embed an HTML form connected to a third-party form service.

Tip: You can also expand your bio page into a multi-page free personal website or add a press folder with its own index.html to serve as a media kit website.

Will search engines list my bio page?

Every page uploaded to ship.page is served with an HTTP noindex header, and we never list uploads in a public directory. Search engines leave your bio page out of results, while anyone who taps the link in your social profile can open it immediately over HTTPS.

Questions

Is ship.page really free for a link-in-bio page?

Yes, you can upload an HTML file up to 10 MB or a ZIP up to 25 MB for free with no signup. The link stays online for 30 days without an account, or 90 days if you sign in with Google or an email link to claim it. Free pages show a small Hosted on ship.page badge that visitors can close.

Can I update my links without changing my bio URL?

On the free plan, no: every new upload creates a new URL. To edit your HTML or re-upload a ZIP while keeping the exact same link in your social bio, you need the Pro plan at $4 a month.

How do I get a Linktree alternative without branding?

On Linktree, removing the Linktree logo requires upgrading to their paid Pro plan. On ship.page, the $4 a month Pro plan removes the ship.page badge completely, and on every plan you control all of the HTML and CSS.

Can I use my own custom domain for my bio link?

No, ship.page does not offer custom domains on any plan. Every upload gets its own HTTPS subdomain, and the $19 a month Team plan lets you pick a vanity subdomain.

Can I upload just a PDF or image as my bio link?

The browser uploader does not accept a PDF, image, or video file on its own. Put your image or PDF inside a folder or ZIP file alongside an index.html page that displays or links to it.

Does ship.page collect email sign-ups like Linktree Free?

ship.page hosts static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with no server-side code or database. To collect emails or phone numbers on your custom page, paste in an embed snippet or form action URL from a third-party form or newsletter service.
