Vercel Drop without an account: past the one-hour limit
Since October 19, 2026, Vercel Drop deploys static sites without an account, and those deployments expire after one hour unless you sign in and claim the project. For the same HTML files, folders or ZIPs with no one-hour deadline, ship.page publishes them for free forever with no signup, no account and no credit card, live in seconds for ZIPs up to 25 MB and 100 files.

Publish your static site without an account or a one-hour timer
Check that your folder has an index.html file
Put your HTML, CSS, JavaScript and images in a folder with index.html as the homepage, or save a single HTML file up to 10 MB. If your folder is larger than roughly 7 MB of files, compress it into a ZIP file up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked, up to 100 files on the free plan).
Drop your file, folder or ZIP onto ship.page
Open ship.page in your browser and drag in your .html file, .zip archive or folder, or paste raw HTML. You do not need an account, an email address or a credit card.
Share the live HTTPS link or QR code
Your site is live in seconds on its own subdomain over HTTPS. The success screen gives you the link and a downloadable PNG QR code, and you can optionally claim the upload later with a free account (no card) to manage it from a dashboard.

How does Vercel Drop work without an account?
Vercel Drop (at vercel.com/drop) lets you deploy a file, folder or ZIP from the browser with no Git setup or command line. Since October 19, 2026, static sites work without a Vercel account, and those anonymous deployments expire after one hour unless you sign in and claim the project.
Vercel added a matching terminal option in October 2026: running vercel deploy --temporary publishes without an account to a temporary address that also expires after one hour unless you claim it. Standard Vercel CLI and Git deployments, as well as framework projects on Vercel Drop, still require a signed-in account from the start.
What happens if you claim the project on Vercel?
When you sign in to claim a Vercel Drop upload before the one-hour timer runs out, the project moves into a Vercel account. Vercel Hobby is $0 and is restricted to personal, non-commercial use, with 100 GB of fast data transfer, 1,000,000 CDN requests a month and 100 deployments a day on a vercel.app address.
If you are sharing a work mockup, a client preview or any commercial page, the Hobby plan terms do not cover it, and Vercel Pro starts at $20 a month. For a broader look at how the two platforms stack up, read our Vercel comparison or browse other Vercel alternatives.
How does ship.page handle no-signup uploads?
On ship.page, the free plan is free forever with no trial, no credit card, no ads, unlimited uploads and no bandwidth limits. You publish without an account by dragging an .html file, a .zip file or a folder into the browser, pasting HTML, or sending one curl command to POST https://ship.page/deploy.
You can claim a page with a free account (sign in with Google or an email link, no card required) to manage it from a dashboard. A free page cannot be updated in place, so uploading a new version creates a new link, while drag-and-drop website hosting on Pro ($4 a month, cancel anytime) gives you pages that stay online while you're on Pro, in-place updates on the same link, password protection and custom subdomains like yourname.ship.place.
- Free limits: single HTML file up to 10 MB, ZIP up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked), 100 files per upload, 10 deploys a minute.
- Pro limits ($4/mo): ZIPs up to 100 MB (400 MB unpacked), 10,000 files per upload, 120 deploys a minute, up to 5 custom subdomains.
- Privacy by default: every upload sends a noindex header so search engines skip it, and uploads are never listed publicly.
- Auto-expiry when you want it: Pro lets you keep pages online while you're subscribed or pick any expiry from 60 seconds for temporary website hosting.
Tip: Folder uploads go up as one request of at most 10 MB with the files encoded inside (roughly 7 MB of files). If your folder is bigger than that, zip it before uploading.
When should you pick Vercel Drop vs ship.page?
Pick Vercel Drop when you are deploying a framework project that needs a build step (with a signed-in account), when you already use a Vercel account for non-commercial Hobby projects, or when you genuinely want an unclaimed link to disappear after 60 minutes.
Pick ship.page when you have finished static files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly or JSON) and want a live link in seconds without signing in to beat a one-hour clock. Note that ship.page serves static files as they are with no server code, no single-page-app fallback (use hash routes like #/about) and no custom domains on any plan.
Questions
Can I use Vercel Drop without a Vercel account?
Yes, for static sites. Since October 19, 2026, Vercel Drop at vercel.com/drop lets you upload a static file, folder or ZIP without an account, and the deployment expires after one hour unless you sign in and claim the project. Framework projects require a signed-in account.
Why does my Vercel Drop link expire after one hour?
Unclaimed deployments made without an account on Vercel Drop, or through the CLI with vercel deploy --temporary, are set to expire after one hour. To keep the deployment online on Vercel, you have to sign in and claim the project before the hour is up.
How do I publish a static folder without an account or a one-hour limit?
Drag your HTML file, folder or ZIP onto ship.page in your browser. It publishes in seconds for free with no signup and no credit card, supporting a single HTML file up to 10 MB or a ZIP up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked) with up to 100 files on the free plan.
Can I deploy from the terminal without an account?
Both tools support terminal deploys without signing in. Vercel offers vercel deploy --temporary, which expires after one hour unless claimed, while ship.page lets you POST your file or ZIP to https://ship.page/deploy with curl or publish through the MCP server at https://ship.page/mcp.
Can I update my page later on ship.page without changing the link?
On the free plan, pages cannot be updated in place, so a new upload gets a new link. On the $4 a month Pro plan, pages don't expire while you're on Pro, and you can re-upload or edit a page while keeping the exact same URL.
What files work on ship.page?
Static files work: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly and JSON. You cannot upload a lone PDF, image or video file by itself; put it in a folder or ZIP with an index.html file, as server-side code like PHP, Node.js, Python or WordPress is not supported.
