NETLIFY FREE PLAN: 300 CREDITS, 15 PER DEPLOY

Netlify free plan limits in 2026: credits explained

The Netlify free plan gives you 300 credits a month: a production deploy costs 15 credits, bandwidth costs 20 credits per GB, deploy previews are free, and when credits hit zero every project pauses. To host static files free forever with no signup, no credit card and no bandwidth limits, drop an HTML file up to 10 MB, a folder or a ZIP up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked, 100 files) on ship.page.

Publish a static site with no credit limits on ship.page

  1. Pack your finished static build

Put your index.html at the root of a folder or ZIP file alongside your CSS, JavaScript, images and fonts. The free plan takes a single HTML file up to 10 MB, a folder up to 10 MB encoded (roughly 7 MB of files), or a ZIP up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked) with up to 100 files.

  2. Drop the folder, ZIP or HTML file in the browser

Open ship.page and drag your file, ZIP or folder onto the uploader, or paste raw HTML. You do not need an account or a credit card.

  3. Share the live HTTPS link or QR code

Your site is live in seconds on its own subdomain over HTTPS, and the success screen gives you a QR code with a PNG download. You can claim the page later with a free account (Google or an email link, no card) to manage it from a dashboard.

How many deploys and how much bandwidth do 300 credits buy?

Netlify draws production deploys and visitor traffic from the same pool of 300 monthly credits. Because a production deploy costs 15 credits and a gigabyte of bandwidth costs 20 credits, every update you push leaves less room for visitors, and every traffic spike leaves fewer deploys for the rest of the month.

Sites on the free plan get a name.netlify.app address, and deploy previews are free. For Production deploys and live traffic, the 300 credits work out to these ceilings:

  • Zero traffic: 20 production deploys a month (20 x 15 credits = 300 credits).
  • Zero production deploys: 15 GB of bandwidth a month (15 x 20 credits = 300 credits).
  • 10 production deploys a month (150 credits): 7.5 GB of bandwidth left for visitors.
  • 16 production deploys a month (240 credits): 3 GB of bandwidth left for visitors.

What happens when Netlify free credits run out?

The 300-credit allowance is a hard limit with no top-ups. According to the Netlify docs, when a team uses up its monthly credits, every project in that account pauses until the next billing cycle.

A paused project serves no web requests, accepts no form submissions and runs no deploys, and visitors see a Site not available message. Because the free plan cannot buy extra credits, the only ways to bring your sites back online are waiting for the monthly reset or upgrading to Personal at $9 a month (1,000 credits) or Pro at $20 a month (3,000 credits).

When to stay on Netlify and when to use ship.page

Netlify is the better pick when your workflow relies on free deploy previews or a name.netlify.app address and your total usage stays reliably under 300 credits a month. If you need more headroom inside Netlify's ecosystem, its paid tiers raise the cap to 1,000 or 3,000 credits.

If you already have a built HTML file, folder or ZIP and do not want a deploy to eat into your bandwidth budget, ship.page is one of the simplest Netlify alternatives. The free plan is free forever with no signup, no credit card, no ads, unlimited uploads and no bandwidth limits. You can also see how browser drag-and-drop compares in our Netlify Drop comparison.

Tip: You can publish to ship.page from a terminal or CI workflow with one curl command (POST https://ship.page/deploy), the MCP server at https://ship.page/mcp, or the GitHub Action.

What ship.page supports and what Pro adds

ship.page hosts static files only: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, audio, video, WebAssembly and JSON. It does not run PHP, Node.js, Python, databases or WordPress, and HTML forms need a third-party form service. Every uploaded page sends a noindex header so search engines leave it out, and uploads are never listed publicly.

Publishing without an account is free, and a new upload gets a new link. If you want pages that stay online as long as you subscribe (or custom expiry from 60 seconds) and the ability to update a site while keeping the same link, ship.page Pro is $4 a month (monthly billing, cancel anytime), putting it among the cheapest website hosting and best free static hosting upgrades.

  • Free plan limits: 10 MB per single HTML file, 25 MB per ZIP (100 MB unpacked), 100 files per upload, 10 deploys a minute.
  • Pro ($4/month): ZIPs up to 100 MB (400 MB unpacked), 10,000 files per upload, 120 deploys a minute, password protection and no badge.
  • Pro custom subdomains: claim up to 5 names like yourname.ship.place (3 to 40 characters of a-z, 0-9 and single hyphens) and point them at any of your pages.
  • Routing note: /about only works as about/index.html, and single-page apps should use hash routes (#/about) because there is no SPA fallback.

Questions

What are the Netlify free plan limits in 2026?

The Netlify free plan gives you 300 credits per month with a hard cap and no credit top-ups. Each production deploy uses 15 credits, each GB of bandwidth uses 20 credits, and deploy previews are free.

How many deploys do you get on the Netlify free plan?

At 15 credits per production deploy, 300 credits pays for at most 20 production deploys a month if your sites use zero bandwidth. Any visitor traffic reduces that number because bandwidth costs 20 credits per GB from the same 300-credit pool. Deploy previews do not cost credits.

How much bandwidth is included in the Netlify free tier?

At 20 credits per GB, 300 credits covers at most 15 GB of bandwidth a month if you trigger zero production deploys that month. Pushing 10 production deploys uses 150 credits, leaving 150 credits (7.5 GB) for bandwidth.

What happens when I run out of Netlify credits on the free plan?

Every project in your team is paused until the next monthly billing cycle, and visitors see a Site not available message. Paused projects stop serving web requests, accepting form submissions and running deploys, and the only way to restore them before the monthly reset is to upgrade to Personal ($9 a month for 1,000 credits) or Pro ($20 a month for 3,000 credits).

Does ship.page use credits or meter bandwidth on the free plan?

No. The ship.page free plan is free forever with no credit system, no bandwidth limits, unlimited uploads and no account required. Each upload can be a single HTML file up to 10 MB, a folder up to 10 MB encoded, or a ZIP up to 25 MB (100 MB unpacked) containing up to 100 files.
